2004 Nissan Murano SUV SL AWD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl CVT)

Review

We purchased a new 2004 Nissan Murano "All Wheel Drive" and in four (4) months, noticed a small 1/4-inch rust spot on the roof. We took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased only to wait over a month for them to schedule an appointment with the Nissan representative. The Nissan representative failed to show up for the appointment and stated the paint on their vehicles could not possibly contain a flaw causing rust. Nissan denied the warranty without the courtesy of looking at the rust. The Nissan warranty customer service was impersonal and denied to even inspect the rust spot. Beware of Nissan's false warranty.

Favorite Features

The 2004 Nissan Murano is a very interesting and unique design vehicle. It has been a very enjoyable and comfortable vehicle to drive. The unique exterior design is interesting and has surprizing room inside.

Suggested Improvements

We experienced a rust spot on the roof of our 2004 Nissan and the manufacturer failed to inspect the vehicle before rendering a conclussion that it could not be their paint failure. Buyer beware of Nissan's false warranty.

2004 Nissan Murano SUV SL Fwd 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl CVT)

Review

Great vehicle! Choices were RX330, Murano, MDX and FX35. In the end, chose something that was different and well priced. Do feel sometimes that RX330 could have also been a good choice, but man is never really satisfied. All in all, good vehicle. Got a touring package at invoice value added to the car. Purschased it below invoice.

Favorite Features

HID light, 6DC, memory seats

Suggested Improvements

Front could improve slightly.

Review

The alternator on our Murano was replaced by the dealer. The car had 10000 miles. I don't think ours was the 1st car to have this trouble. Sounds like a design problem with the alternators on the Muranos. Pretty scarey on a new car in this day and age.

Review

I traded in a boxy 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the MO. I prefer the great styling and performance of the Murano over the Jeep anyday. I'd say the expected future reliability should be above average. Fun to drive and look at, responsive. Gas mileage could be better, though.

Favorite Features

Engine performance, exterior styling, oversized tires, leather seating, instrumentation pod, Bose Stereo.

Suggested Improvements

Front wipers should be able to fold up for easy windshield cleaning. Rear window should open independant of hatch. Improved paint, seems to be very chip tolerable. Better QA for squeaks and rattles.
