We are a family of three and selected the Murano because it; has a reliable powertrain, nice styling, no third row seat (we didn't need one), good safety features and good fuel economy for it's size and weight. This vehicle has performed well, no serious mechanical issues. There were a couple of recalls for seat belt issues and the addition of fuel tank safety shields. Some complain that MPG's are too low. I think economy is great for the size of the vehicle. We get 20-21 MPG city and about 23-24 highway. This is exactly what the EPA sticker says we should get. At speeds above about 70 MPH we've found fuel economy degrades rapidly.
Ease of maintenence. Oil & filter easy to change with no need to lift car. Filters and general maintenance items easy to get to. CVT works great. CVT improves fuel economy especially at lower speeds. Handling is excellent for this style vehicle. Comfortable interior, premium stereo nice.
I wish they used better paint on these. We own a 96 Chevy Suburban that sits out. The Chevy paint looks better even though it's 7 years older.
