2009 Nissan Maxima

Re: 2009 maxima or 2008 Infiniti G35? [strehlow]

I bought a brand new 2000 Maxima when they first hit and didn't have any problems out of the ordinary so I am not too worried about the new model being a problem The 2000's came out in US after they have been around for two years in Japan as Nissan Cifiaro (Spelling??). Hence it was not a TRUE first model year. I too bought first model year 2000 I30 and have been happy...but ... Read More...

Nissan Maxima Lease Questions

Re: September Lease Rates [ucjjg]

Hi ucjjg. Kcbny is right. NMAC's current buy rate lease money factor for the 2008 Maxima is a terrible .00280 right now. That's the bad news. The good news is that this lack of lease support means that the $4,000 customer cash that Nissan is currently providing on the '08 Maxima can be used on leases. Still, if I was personally interested in leasing something right ... Read More...

Nissan Maxima Bluetooth

Bluetooth

I have a Blackberry with AT&T service and my husband has a Motorola Q with Verizon service. We both have excellent connectivity in our 2008 Maxima. Our one problem is that the sound only comes out of the passenger side speakers. When the car is moving, it is very hard to hear the person you are talking to. When we inquired about this at the dealer, they said that this ... Read More...

2009 Nissan Maxima

Re: What's wrong with the CVT? [cyberpunk]

The Maxima's loss of sales was symptomatic of its overall transition into a very boring car. Sure - those that would only buy a car with a manual tranmission were part of the many that jumped ship. But no matter how you look at it - that segment of the Maxima's customer base had little impact on Nissan's overall decline in sales. You can't possibly blame the loss of ... Read More...

Dilema

Ok so everyone or almost everyone has some criticism of Nissan for the design of the outgoing 2008 Maxima body style, and I am sure we remember the controversial comments made about the front grill when the car hit the streets in 2004 (looked like bugs bunny's front teeth in the middle of the grille, also reminiscent of prior Oldsmobile models of the 80s). Now the ... Read More...

Re: What's wrong with the CVT? [cyberpunk]

I think I can sum up your beef against the '09 Maxima as being that a) there is no manual tranmission available and b) Nissan's marketing spin refers to it as a 4DSC. That's pretty close. I also have issues with the Maxima's weight bloating 20% from 1995 to 2009, but the dichotomy of calling it a 4DSC and not offering a manual transimission is my bigger "beef". any lost ... USA Today review of the 2009 Maxima

Maxima Fans, Today's USA Today newspaper contained a full review of the 2009 Maxima. Overall, a positive review with some minor gripes. In my opinion, he spent too much time discussing the "little stuff" like praising the glove box size and criticizing the noise of the sunroof open/close function. Personally, I've not noticed any unusual noises opening/closing ... Read More...

Re: Small 2009 Maxima? [flightnurse]

Let me be as clear as possible. A CVT transmission and a "4-Door Sports Car" are mutually exclusive. Period. If Nissan is going to label the Max as such, they should at least have the integrity to offer it in a proper manual transmission. A 1995 190hp Maxima with a 5-speed manual was capable of 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. A 2009 290hp Maxima with a CVT manages it in a whopping ... Read More...
