2005 Nissan Maxima Headlight bulb replacement

Hello all and Merry Christmas! My passenger's side headlight just went out today. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is it REALLY as hard to change them as I am reading online? 2. Is there bulb ONE bulb with high/low beams or TWO seperate bulbs , 1 for hi, 1 for low? (There seems to be confusion on this...most forums say it's ONE bulb, but, there are both HI and LOW beams ... Re: out4cat, rkurlander, cyberpunk [out4cat]

Back when I bought my 1995 Maxima, the dealers in Northern Virginia set a new standard for "sleeziness". Rosenthal and Browns were particularly scummy. As was Darcars on the Maryland side. VOB was the only Nissan dealer at the time that was professional and had integrity. And they were generally great for service, as well. I'm not sure what they are like today, ... Read More...

Re: out4cat, rkurlander, cyberpunk [out4cat]

Am I using "fuzzy logic", or are you guilty of being a "gullible Amercian" as you put it? The issue isn't what the Japanese car companies might have intended with the creation and marketing of their "premium" divisions. The issue is the reality of what reasonably intelligent consumers might consider and compare when actually shopping for a car. And if you have ... Read More...

Re: Buyers Remorse 2009 Maxima [go_mdx1]

I think the 2009 TL SH-AWD with 305 horsepower will pretty much take top honors in performance and all weather versitility. That AWD set up should result in a sub 6 second 0-60 and have it be better balanced (albeit heavier) in the corners. I will be complaining that it weighs too much and doesn't come with a stick, but perhaps an "S" version down the road will take ... Read More...

Re: Small 2009 Maxima? [schmave717]

Habitat - You must be a great negotiator. I'm told most dealers won't budge off sticker. You've confused me with someone else regarding that post. However, anyone that would pay MSRP for a Maxima is nuts, IMO. And to that extent, maybe I am a good negotiator, or simply not a sucker. I bought a 2002 Honda S2000 for $1k under sticker when the Edmunds "Fair Market Value" ... Read More...

Re: The CVT experience [austinman7]

Car & Driver feels Nissan has the best CVT setup of anyone. And, in my opinion, that's a bit like saying the Toytoa Avalon is the best cure for chronic insomnia by anyone. I'm sorry to sound negative on Nissan, but the company really has big kahunas labeling the 2009 Maxima as a "4 Door Sports Car". I happen to still own a 1995 Maxima SE 5-speed manual transmission and, ... Read More...

Article Comments - 2009 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SV Full Test

I'm glad to see a change.

I own a 2005 Maxima and I really like the car. However, I felt it was time that Nissan made a major change. The new model looks interesting and pictures never do a car justice. I'm waiting for the local dealer to get one in so I can see it "in the flesh." The only issues I might have is the smaller trunk, and the lack of a fold down rear seat. If they did away with that feature, ... Read More...
