Re: loss of power [lsu50]
I was just writing about my 2008 Nissan Maximas transmission. The car would not accelerate after 60 mph. It did not change gears. Once I stopped the car it completely "went dead". I had bought the car used; However it was one day old for me. It has been towed back to Nissan. I am seriously considering a refund and purchasing for the same price an Altima. I had zero problems ... Read More...
2008 Maxima Transmission Problem
I have heard nothing, but excellent reviews on the Nissan Maxima. I had a 2004 Nissan Altima and never had a problem with the Altima other than changing the fuses. I could not afford the newer model Maxima; However I was able to purchase a 2008 Altima at 23,000. The next day the transmission failed and the car was towed back to Nissan. Any suggestions? :( Read More...

Re: 2004 Nissan Maxima CD Player Skipping issue [aamu_allenboi]
That problem dates back to the 02 model. I had mine replaced 4 times. Once they put one in brand new and didn't ever turn on. The last one worked for about a year before it started skipping and it graduated from just doing it in cold weather to all year round. Best you can do is go aftermarket. Crutchfield probably has one that will fit right in there. I just traded my 02 ... Read More...
RE:2004 maxima leaking issues, maxman7
Hey its Me again, I have the leaky maxima with high mileage, I was unable to identify where the leak was coming from. To be honest I couldnt decide if it was oil or power steering fluid, I am a pretty good mechanic just not real familiar with the imports as much as with the american cars, I placed some paper under the car and caught some of the leak, It really looks like ... 2004 Nissan Maxima CD Player Skipping issue
I have an 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE and I have notice when the weather starts to turn cold the Cd player skips unbareably. When the car warmed up, it usually would start playing fine but now it doesn't. I have brand new cd's and it still skips. I have cleaned it and it still skips. I even tried calling the dealership to see if there was ever a recall on the cd player for the ... Read More...
Re: 2009 Maxima acceleration spec comparo [habitat1]
I agree with you, compared to cars such as the ES350 and Avalon, it looks pretty darn good. As for the TL, I have a 2004 6-speed, so again, I'm a bit biased and would never trade away my TL for a CVT Maxima. The 04 TL is a handsome car - it has an almost Italian look to it. I brokered an 05 for one of my clients and she is still driving it - she loves the car. As you are probably aware, ... Read More...
Re: CVT [carnut35]
I think you guys who have driven the CVT and then put it down very badly are doing it an injustice....... And look at the numbers: I think I saw 6.2 seconds 0 to 60; that's class leading fast, and probably a good bit faster than whatever you're driving now. Sorry it's taken awhile to respond, but better late than never. Regarding performance, Edmunds tested the 2009 ... Read More...
Re: 2009 maxima or 2008 Infiniti G35? [habitat1]
Here here to that, U.S. built Maximas (2004-2008) are terrible in materials, craftsmanship, fit and finish, and overall reliability. If anyone has one or sees one, look at the panel gaps around the trunk, the left front fender gap with the front left door is large enough to see the bolts holding the door in place and in addition the top of the left fender sticks out ... Re: 2009 maxima or 2008 Infiniti G35? [SergeyM]
... and build in US. Interesting observation. My 1995 Maxima was the last generation (4th) to be built in Japan. And, according to my Nissan service manager, was the best Maxima ever in terms of solid reliability and durability. Brake pads lasted 90k+ miles, rotors were not replaced until 150k, original clutch, driving chain never needs replacement, etc. And, ... Read More...
Re: out4cat, rkurlander, cyberpunk [sanjaysdca]
Wow, that's an interesting set of vehicles you cross shopped - you are going to send out4cat back to his Johnny Walker tring to comprehend all of those violations of the manufacturers' marketing intentions. But I have to ask about some of the prices. - The TL and TL-S at $3k+ BELOW invoice? $7k below MSRP? And the MDX you bought at $35.8k was at $4,300 below invoice ... Read More...
