The three ac/heater control buttons just above the off button on the navigation system have broken off. Where can I find replacement parts without having to buy another navigation system. Read More...

Nissan Maxima Maintenance and Repair

Re: 2001 Nissan Maxima SE $2865 repair surprise [dx1hf]

Thanks to all who have responded so far. I did the battery disconnect a couple months ago but the issue keeps coming back. The dealer says the ECU is posting P0420 and P0430 errors. The ECU was flashed in 2002 so it has the latest code with the fix for NTB00-070a (Service Bulletin to address computer incorrectly posting P0420 code). I checked with a 3rd party shop...and ... 2009 Nissan Maxima

Re: out4cat, rkurlander, cyberpunk [out4cat]

Am I using "fuzzy logic", or are you guilty of being a "gullible Amercian" as you put it? The issue isn't what the Japanese car companies might have intended with the creation and marketing of their "premium" divisions. The issue is the reality of what reasonably intelligent consumers might consider and compare when actually shopping for a car. And if you have ... Read More...

Re: What's wrong with the CVT? [cyberpunk]

I think I can sum up your beef against the '09 Maxima as being that a) there is no manual tranmission available and b) Nissan's marketing spin refers to it as a 4DSC. That's pretty close. I also have issues with the Maxima's weight bloating 20% from 1995 to 2009, but the dichotomy of calling it a 4DSC and not offering a manual transimission is my bigger "beef". any lost ... Re: Small 2009 Maxima? [schmave717]

Habitat - You must be a great negotiator. I'm told most dealers won't budge off sticker. You've confused me with someone else regarding that post. However, anyone that would pay MSRP for a Maxima is nuts, IMO. And to that extent, maybe I am a good negotiator, or simply not a sucker. I bought a 2002 Honda S2000 for $1k under sticker when the Edmunds "Fair Market Value" ... Read More...

'09 Maxima

This is the first model I've liked since 2002. But I think the premium fuel and poor gas mileage would nix it for me. I think, next time around, I might look more at the Nissan Altima hybrid instead. Read More...

Re: 2009 Nissan Maxima [albook]

Doesn't matter if I understand the term "full-sized sedan." It would be pretty difficult for me to fit these particular cars in my garage!!! Even when I had my 2002 Maxima, I either had to bump up against the washing machine which was at the front of the garage or tap up against the garage door in order to be able to move around to the front of the car while it was inside ... Article Comments - 2009 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SV Full Test

Since the introduction of the 2002 Nissan Altima, things have looked bleak for the Nissan Maxima. With both cars sharing the same corporate D-platform and offering the same VQ-Series V6, Maxima sales have declined and now the Altima outsells it by a margin of 5-to-1. Mainstream Large Sedans Comparison

Re: 2009 Maxima [scwmcan] CHANGES ??? [lightfootfl] [tjc78] [captain2] [tjc78]

the interior is so much better than the previous generation if there is one common complaint about Nissan products this is probably it. The 2002 Altima was revolutionary in many respects but with an interior lacking in comparison to Camrys/Accords, same could be said for the G35 in its class, and the Maximas in its various renditions. I don't think Nissan really ... Read More...

Re: Avalon vs. Azera Throwdown: Azera Test Drive [captain2]

A few years??? LOL The Max hit the scene in '84. However, you're right...2002 is when Nissan dropped the bombshell of the 240 hp 3.5 V-6 Altima that seemed to be the start of the HP wars. Even at that point...the fact that the Maxima had 15 more ponies...it was a different animal. However, when the Altima got refreshed in '05...it surpassed the Maxima in terms of power ...
