Good value for someone wanting a
sportier ride with some luxury. The V6
is torquey and feels like a small V8.
The brakes and steering are also good.
If you are a spirited driver, the
suspension will leave you disappointed.
The body rolls heavily and the
springs/struts are are tuned for
comfort rather than performance. The
6speed gears are spaced well but the
throw seems extra long and the feel is
very notchy - like working a big screw
driver in bowl full of marbles! Nissan
could take some lessons from Honda.
Dispite the shortcomings, the V6 does
make up for them and is perhaps the
best sport sedan available for under
Is this a sedan or not? It feels faster
than a sports car, except their are 3
passengers in the back. The Maxima goes
0-60 in 6.3 seconds. Thats fast. It is
fun to drive. Nice interior, and oh did
I mention it was fast. Cars pull up
next to the car and have no idea they
can get smoked by a family sedan. This
max will make the BMW 325 look silly!!!
Nice car, except for 3 things that I
dont like about it. Back seats are not
good for tall people, suspension is
Rough on the SE (you feel every bump),
making a U-Turn is hard, same with
parking spots. Also if you hit the gas
and there is bumps on the road you
better hold onto the wheel cause it
locks up and and jerks really hard.
255 Horse Power, 3.5 liter engine,
Xenon lights, Manuverable, roomy in the
front and its FASSST.
i really have to think hard to complain
about anything in regards to
the engine is perfect and the interior
design is perfect. it is true that the
ride of the se model is stiff on rough
roads, but i like the handling of the
sport package. i tried all the entry
level luxury sedans, but this car gives
you all the quality of those models for
a lot less money. mine is loaded with
the bose sound system, leather seats
and sunroof. everyone who rides with me
comments on how smooth the ride is, how
great the stereo sounds and they love
the acceleration you get when you punch
silky smooth engine and transmission
with a lot of zip. good sound system,
quiet ride, comfortable seats. logical
controls. roomy back seat.
would like to see even more horsepower,
maybe around 300 or so. back seat cup
holders are needed.
My '02 Maxima is the best car I've
owned. The 255 hp engine's performance
is superb and runs great on regular.
The heated seats and steering wheel
make early morning winter drives
bearable. I plan to keep it until
Moon roof, 17" wheels, leather, power
all, stereo make this car fun to own.
Shorten the turning radius. Lights for
the steering wheel radio & cruise
