I have 99' Maxima SE Limited 5 speed
for more then 3 years. The car is
comparable to Camry and Accord that I
had before but cost way too much in
maintenance. Looks like it's Nissan's
way to compete with big guys like
Toyota and Honda - for customers'
expense. Look at new Edmunds topic True
Cost to Own and compare to other
similarly priced cars. I would not buy
another Nissan, period.
Engine is good, visibility is good,
sound system is fair (I have $1,000
extra Bose system)
Worst thing is Maxima's clutch - died
on me after 3 years - I am driving
stick shift for more then 20 years, so
it's not me. Wearable item so be ready
to pay $800 for new one. Best of all,
buy Honda or Toyota. Also, Toyo tires
are gone after 30,000 miles.
