2012 Nissan Leaf SL 4dr Hatchback (3-phase, 4-pole electric DD)
Review
If you can afford it, this car is fun to drive. Plenty of pick-up (we drive home over 80 mph). It is a commuter car for going to work and coming home. Approximate round trip distance is 100 miles on one charge. If you use economy mode, it can get more miles, but no pick up and go, I mean none. When you go down hill or even flat (not up hill) it can make more miles instead of using up miles on economy. Approximate cost to charge from empty is $2.50. Don't get ripped off when getting your home charger, (see suggested improvements). Go see Gina or Ken at Performance Nissan. I can honestly say you will get an up and up deal, and not get ripped.
Favorite Features
NO GAS, and when you have to take it in for service, its really only check the tires and brakes. What a savings! Also you get state and federal incentives to buy one.
Suggested Improvements
Front end headlights are pretty funky looking. I would have preferred them not sticking out. No leather package. When getting your home charger, see Ken for the electrician. No joke, you will save a bundle. I saved 1,325.00 total. Also for your charger, go to Consolidated Electrical Distributors in Pasadena and get a Schneider Electric charger for 924.38 including tax. I can't thank Ken enough. No one likes to get ripped off, and going to Nissans approved local vendor in the area is a total rip off, including the 100.00 they charge just to give you an estimate for installation. Of course, deductible if you use them. Most people don't do their homework and find other estimates, so get ripped.
Ronokuda, thanks for the review, very helpful.
Didn't realize I could shop for the charger.
I have not yet accepted the offer made, mostly because the fees imposed at the last minute and fine print.
May I ask if you had to pay the Destination Charge and Dealer Fees?
My dealer won't budge.
Did you lease or buy?
