This is my first truck and first Nissan. I sold my TSX to buy a truck so I could do more camping trips with my family. So let me just get this out of the way... I love this truck. It drives perfect. I usually drive conservatively and this truck is very nice and comfortable just cruising around. But when you need the power, this thing doesn't hesitate. The engine has a nice growl when you get on the gas. The interior is simple but works. The materials are hard plastic. Coming from the TSX and my wife's CR-V, I personally feel the switches in the Nissan are not as high quality, but they work nonetheless. (I'm probably just not used to them.) I got the Navy Blue and I can't stop looking at it.
(ran out of space in the review so I'm continuing here)
I think it looks better than the Tacoma. I also considered a used 2004 Dakota. But the Frontier drives much better and sportier. I would've considered the Tacoma but it would have cost another $4-5k with similar options. I filled up today for the first time and I averaged 21-22 mpg on 35/65% city/highway. Higher than avg since I'm driving it gently until the engine breaks in.
But it goes to show you that you can get decent mpg if you're easy on the accelerator. I could probably get 24-25 mpg on the freeway with cruise set to 65.
