For what its worth, my 1996 4-cyl pick-up makes a lot of noise when the A/C compressor kicks in. To the point that trying to listen to music at a stop light without turning up the volume was frustrating. Adding additional sound deadening to the cab helped out quite a bit, but even still, my much earlier version is a pretty loud vehicle overall. Regarding the oil consumption, the 1 qt ... Read More
To Steelydan.....Wonderful news bout the trans. As I mentioned earlier I had 2 Nissans back to back and they were a joy to have. I had 6 years of complete trouble free driving. Never back to the dealer once with a complaint. Too bad I have so much time left on my current lease or I would be tearing the roads up getting to a Nissan dealer. I have been driving ... Read More
Thank you Steelydan for the honest review on the Frontier. I knew about the demise of all the small trucks (no Rangers any more in N.A. after this year too) but the mpg did not impress me . I am an old gal but I too like to watch my driving habits (no jack rabbit starts, slow down for lights etc.). Due to problems with the crazy 6sp. auto that Ford ... Read More
I'm having the same problem on a gray truck. Nissan said it's not covered under warranty. Not to happy. As it happened only after one winter.

I have a paint chipping problem on a 2010 Frontier. It is the long wheelbase (crew cab long bed). It was fine until this winter where road salt removed a patch of paint in front of both rear wheels just in front of the way too small clear paint protection film. The area is about 3 X 3 on each side. I have only seen this happen on LWB trucks and ... Read More
About the stalling, you may want to ask them if your Frontier is subject to the new (12/2010) recall on the 'ECM Relay'. The relay is actually on the Intelligent Power Distribution Module and a defective relay will cause the engine to imtermittently quit. Your truck has the classic symtoms of the problem, but I do not know if 2010's are included in the recall. If your Dealer is a rubberhead, ... Read More

Bought my car in May of 2010. Within a month or 3,000 miles later car stalled on the way to California from Phoenix. The engine just shut down right in the middle of the freeway, really scary as I had my whole family in there. Towed the car to the nearest dealer and they replaced a bad crank sensor. 7,000 miles and five months later - same thing. Car stalls, tow ... Read More
MJ, Hey! Thanks for the reply, appreciate the heads up on the keys and key fob. Sounds like you did well on your deal. Since the 2011 models are out, one would expect to get a better deal. Love the Nissan Frontier...nicely built, powerful and good looking too. Had my 2005 model since 2006, and had no problems, 'cept I really beat it up, lol. Enjoy the road and the off-road. ... With the $2,000 cash and $750 holiday cash (in Oregon anyways), plus dealer discounts, 2010 Frontier's are very attractive. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger. Here is the advertised deal on their website: 2010 Nissan Frontier Crew SE 4x4 MSRP: $28,220 Special Price: $22,240 If you price through overstock (http://cars.overstock.com), again in the NW area, most price out around $5500 off MSRP. Any other recent purchases in that ballpark? ... Read More
In July I purchased a new 2010 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X4 replacing my 2001 Frontier. No complaints there- just wore out. But with the new purchase I quickly discovered that when stopped on a hill, while in drive, the vehicle rolls backwards. It will similarly roll forward if in reverse and stopped when backing up. I now know there is a “Hill start assist” that allows the driver to stop on ... Read More

I certainly do, Shawn. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s October buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 Frontier CC SE 4WD with 15,000 miles per year are .00001 and 50%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2011 model (SV) are .00182 and 55%. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
Carman, Can you give me the money factor and residual on Nissan's current lease specials for the 2010 and 2011 Nissan Frontier CC SE/SV 4X4 with 15k miles? Thanks! Shawn
I have a 2010 Nissan Frontier. The blower fan unit for the Ac/heating system makes a low whining noise when the fan is running in a low speed. Has anyone else noticed this in their truck.
Could you drop me the information? I have a 2010 Nissan SE 4x4 Crew Cab :)
Good news, I called the dealer (Folsom Nissan) and talked to the finance manager and he apologized for any misunderstanding and promised fixed everything. My wife and I are going back today to sign new papers... I am so relieved to find that the dealer is responsive and interested in correcting issues. I am so relieved, I was looking for a different dealer for service and I don't think that is ... Read More
Greetings. Sorry to hear of your unsatisfactory financing experience at the Nissan dealership. In comparison, I had a rather pleasant one when I purchased my 2010 LE CC 4x4. The price of the truck was great, the trade-in allowance was quite generous and the finance rate (at the time was OK). About a month after purchase, I saw an advertisement for auto loans at 3.99% which was about 2 percent lower ... Read More
Using Car's Direct price of $23,335 I got a local dealer to agree to $200 less. I bought the truck for $23,135. The truck came with the SE value package, auto, crew cab, the price is after $2K rebate, only additional cost was for tax & lic. I bought the truck from Folsom Nissan (CA), but I recommend staying away from them. A couple other local dealers wouldn't even match the ... Read More
Compared Tacoma and Frontier. Low-Mid range priced Tacoma or Fully Loaded LE Frontier was the choice. It was no comparison. Power - Frontier, Style - Frontier, Creature comforts - Frontier. We are neighbors to the Toyota dealer 1 mile away and visited ... Read More

If you are tired of the Frontier's front armrest and need some comfort and support and I really mean comfort, I currently manufacture an armrest that sits and attaches to the top of the existing armrest that slides forward up to six inches and slides back in place when not in use. Does not interfere with cupholders and you can still open the console lid in the forward or rear position. ... Read More
Proud new owner of a 2010 Frontier LE CC 4x4 Red Brick w/ beige leather. Got LE value package, Moonroof, Tow package, and mats. MSRP $32,815. Used the internet department of a NY dealer (Baron Nissan) and got an email quote of $30,570 before a $2,000 manufacturer's rebate. So the net cost of the truck was 28,570 +TTL. Hi There, I have been looking at buying a 2010 Nissan Frontier or Toyota Tacoma and I wanted to know how your frontier has been treating you. I cant make up my mind but have to purchase in the next week.If you can let me know I would appreciate it. Mattsowell@gmail.com
The problem is Nissan's fuel sending units (FSUs) in the fuel tank which causes an inaccurate gauge reading. The recall affects Frontiers, Pathfinder and Xterras produced from January to March 2006 and October 2007 to January 2008. Nissan will be sending letters to owners in late March 2010 I have read. It's clear the FSU problem affects many vehicles outside of these dates, so I'm not sure what Nissan is thinking. ... Read More
The Dealer removed the rack and put in some screws with rubber washers and a bit of RTV for good measure. The torx head screws holding the rack come out easily and they painted the replacements of mine to match the paint on the truck(white). I have the orighinals that match the rack. You can match the threads at most hardware stores. I am in CT and may reinstall the rack ... Read More
Congrats on your new Frontier! If you got an LE like mine, then did you get the LE value package as well? It includes lots of goodies (heated leather seats, Rockford Fosgate audio, etc.) BTW, how did you remove the roof rack and how did you deal with the holes left where the attachment screws were. Based on your posting I guess I did good on price. I have seen some ... Read More
I read somewhere a couple of months ago that Nissan was going to discontinue making the Titans after 2010. So I was wondering does anybody know the future of the Frontier Pickups. I would think that Nissan would stay with the smaller pickup and the reason for dropping the Titan was Nissan trying to merge with Chrysler Dodge for the bigger size pickup and technology.
Just wondering what is the situation with deals on new 2009 Frontiers now? Are dealers getting any incentives from Nissan to move these trucks before 2010 models come in? What is the current dealer hold back? -albertr
Just a thought, but Nissan selling cheaper moving trucks, the more they sell and put on the road the more exposure they get. IF! the Fronty turns out to be as good or better then Tacoma, then word will get to consummers. Why pay thousands more for Taco if Fronty just as good. But on the 05-06 Tacoma/Frontier jury is still out. I would guess 2010 would give some indication of results 5 ... Read More
