Superb truck +1
By Thomas Lawson on 04/30/06 14:04 PM (PDT)

Vehicle

2006 Nissan Frontier SE 4dr Crew Cab SB (4.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

This truck has been wonderful. There is plenty of room for our sons in the back seat even on 200+ mile trips to see family. The is superb power and even pulls the 6500 lb towing without a problem but make sure you have trailer brakes if going very far. This is by no means a "compact" truck with the ample room over the previous Frontiers. I am running Mobil 1 synthetic and Nissan says, even though they recommend standard crude in the owners manual, that this is okay for warranty. I work at Nissan with guys that oversee engine testing they say these 4.0 are just about bullet proof.

Great value

Vehicle

2006 Nissan Frontier XE 4dr King Cab SB (2.5L 4cyl 5A)

Review

The XE is a sleeper. Sure the 154 horsepower four cyl. isn't for the macho types. It works hard to push a 3,500 lb truck, but this is the engine that makes the Altima great, just tuned for truck duty! Give me the 23 mpg any day over the (admittedly GREAT 4 liter 6's 16-18. Workmanship is excellent, handling is great, towing capacity of 3,500 lb for a 4 banger is amazing! Ride is a little busy on rough road, but cornering and braking is super. And gas mileage for a truck that I use to haul around tools fo work is fantastic.

Should Have Been Truck Of The Year
By Matt on 04/17/06 14:52 PM (PDT)

2006 Nissan Frontier Nismo 4dr King Cab 4WD SB (4.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

When Toyota Tacoma was named "Truck of the Year”, I think it was done because of brand name only. When I looked at the Tacoma, I noticed that it did not have full-boxed frame. Part of the frame was 'C' channel. The concept of a composite bed is nice on paperwork but the practical aspect is not. A pickup truck's rear end is light enough without making it lighter by using a composite bed. The V6 in the Frontier is generations ahead of the Tacoma in efficiency (hp to ci) and it's done with 87 octane not 90+ as recommended by Toyota.

I have always owned Ford Trucks and every one of them seem to break down after 36,000 miles. I traded my 4x4 Ranger Edge for a New 2006 Nissan Frontier LE........Now this is a compact truck to be recond with!!! The Dealership was ecellent in getting what I want and at the price I wanted...I recommend anoyone to Gunn Nissan, they were honest, quick, and kept informed.

This is one of the best trucks i have owned. The power is awesome you can realy feel the torque it puts out. Steering is tight handles like a dream and stops on a dime.Seats are comfy with great support.Stereo is the only bad thing in the Frontier.New Hu fixed that.

Best mid-sized crew cab of all

Ottawa, Canada - Bought my Majestic Blue Frontier just before Xmas. I test drove all the competitors (Dodge, GM, Toyota and Honda) and at the end of the day the Nissan beat out the Toyota. The others did not compare. The clincher was overall price vs. options. This is not a truck for those looking for a Cadillac ride with truck utility. That being said, this is a very functional vehicle that can take anything thrown at it and then some. It has power to spare and will fit well with the hard core truck user or the urban tinkerer/craftsman/sportsman. City driving is harder on the mileage (14.9litres/ 100km) but the highway numbers are much better. The ride on the highway is exceptional
