MJ, Hey! Thanks for the reply, appreciate the heads up on the keys and key fob. Sounds like you did well on your deal. Since the 2011 models are out, one would expect to get a better deal. Love the Nissan Frontier...nicely built, powerful and good looking too. Had my 2005 model since 2006, and had no problems, 'cept I really beat it up, lol. Enjoy the road and the off-road. ... If you are tired of the Frontier's front armrest and need some comfort and support and I really mean comfort, I currently manufacture an armrest that sits and attaches to the top of the existing armrest that slides forward up to six inches and slides back in place when not in use. Does not interfere with cupholders and you can still open the console lid in the forward or rear position. ... Read More
Hello SuzyQ About 2 months ago I noticed that my heat would not warm up in my 2005 Nissan Frontier. I just hit 99k and I thought I had a thermostat issue however my local certified Nissan Dealer tells me different. They told me I have antifreeze in my transmission fluid. I was also told that one of the cooliant lines from the radiator probably has a crack in it and ... Read More
I have a 2005 Nissan I am having transmission problems from the radiator leaking into my transmission. I'm waiting to see if Nissan will take care of it.
The problem is Nissan's fuel sending units (FSUs) in the fuel tank which causes an inaccurate gauge reading. The recall affects Frontiers, Pathfinder and Xterras produced from January to March 2006 and October 2007 to January 2008. Nissan will be sending letters to owners in late March 2010 I have read. It's clear the FSU problem affects many vehicles outside of these dates, so I'm not sure what Nissan is thinking. ... Read More
So that readers are kept straight, this is likely TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) NTB08023 which reads that Nissan has determined that on some 2005 and 2006 Frontier vehicles with 2.5 liter engine there is a possibility that the program in the Engine Control Module (ECM) may lead to the improper operation of the evaporative emission control system. To prevent this potential condition from occurring, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall ... Read More

Man, you must have got the Friday truck of all Friday trucks. I have 233,000 miles on mine with only regular maintenance (oil change, lube jobs and tune-ups) and I expect it will still be going strong in another quarter million miles. Usual load is a Caterpillar transmission, tractor tires, and many other commercial parts. Good luck with yours.
Exhaust fell off, a/c broke, steering wheel almost came completely off, now gas gauge doesn't work??? All this and more at 38,000 miles, right when the warranty ended. By far the worst truck I ever owned (I 've had 2 ford rangers, ford f-150, toyota tacoma, nissan frontier, chevy s10) S10 and nissan are tied for worst!!!! Ford ranger amazingly reliable low maintenance truck. Thousands of complaints about the fuel level ... Read More

My 2006 NISMO has one repair which is TPMS sensor covered under warranty. I have a squeak which I believe is coming from bushings/mounts between the frame and bed or cab (have not really investigated it, when I get some free time I'll get under the truck and do some detective work), nothing else. Previous truck was a Toyota Tacoma which had a problem with dash rattles when new that required ... Read More

I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier with 30K miles. The dealer recommended the scheduled maintenance of not only replacement of the engine oil but also replacing the automatic transmission fluid, deferential oil, coolant, drive belts and transfer case oil. Other than the engine oil, is it really necessary to change the rest of the items mentioned every 30K? In my opinion the dealer is really into the preventative maintenance. Of the ... Read More

I own a 2006 SLT Sport CC Dakota 4.7 and tow a boat and other loads. I also own and tow with a 2006 Nissan Xterra 4.0. Hi jetta18. Through September 5th, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2006 Frontier Crew Cab LE 4WD with 15,000 miles per year are .00146 and 56%, respectively. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum
I generally don't agree with price targets but for those of you who need them start at 5900 off for the high end (27000) plus models. Work 10-15 dealers around your locale using Nissan dealer locator last few days of the month. Be happy at 4500-5500 off. (You may need college grad rebate for 5500 but see anyway) Lower priced models may be similar. A 27000 Frontier is a 19000 vehicle ... Read More
I got $1500 off my truck, I asked about the student discount and they said it was only for 2006s, which mine wasnt (its an 05). I just went through the ringer dealing on a new truck. I narrowed it down to a 2006 Taco or Fronty. It came down to the dealership. I like both trucks. Owners manual says that Nissan "recommends mineral oil", so be aware if that matters to you. I've used good ol' mineral oil on our previous three vehicles and they've all exceeded 200,000 Miles without engine trouble or excessive oil consumption. I change every 3,750 Miles or so. Synthetic oil is probably fine, but for me, I can't see what it offers for the extra expense.

Hey Philip. If you were to lease a 2006 Nissan Frontier King Cab SE 4WD through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00181 and 58%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 39 month lease should be .00179 and 57%. Car_man Host Smart Shopper / Prices Paid Forums
Not sure about the hitch. But I bought an extang trifecta folding cover for my 05 Frontier (CC SE). It works great and takes about 15 minutes to install. Good luck
Hey Car_Man, Could you please post Nissan's current residual and money factor on a 2006 Nissan Frontier King Cab SE 4x4 for 36 and 39 month leases? Thanks for the help! Philip
I just purchased a 2006 Nissan Frontier SE M/T with bed extender and towing package for 19200 after* 1500 rebate from Nissan. Had the dealer pull invoice and they showed it at 2103 of course not including any rebates. Only thing I regret is not getting the power package, its really a must. Btw, that is price before TTL.
The Frontier should feel "stronger:" Frontier w/4.0 V6: 265 HP 173 lb. ft. torque @ 4400rpm vehicle weight 3675 lbs. Dakota w/4.7 V8: 235 HP 240 lb. ft. torque @ 4000rpm vehicle weight 4261 lbs. While a dealer test drive will undoubtedly produce a greater sensation of acceleration and speed in the Frontier, at ... Read More

what brand and modle do you have for the lift and do you have any pics you can share with us. Thanks. I too love my NIssan, I have the CC Le 4wd. it so fast!!
subs are under the seat on the left side ,they're pretty loud with the write music,I hate that rap crap and I play rock and Grateful dead ,they sound great!
it does sit on the floor. I lay the back part of the seats down (which is flat) and put the dogs on top of it.
Does that mean the subwoofer is sitting on the floor? One of the things that appeals to me about the Frontier is the seats pop up and you have a flat floor. If I have a subwoofer there, that will not work for me and my big dogs.
Just FYI - I have the 2" lift from PRG and it still has the problem with the upper A-arm hitting the strut bucket. The new A-arm he is coming up with is going to cost over $500...not worth it in my opinion. I'm going to take mine off when I have some time. I have the Fosgate. The sub is under the rear seat behind the driver. I think the system is good. You could do better aftermarket, but the steering wheel controls make the deal. I know this has been brought up before, but I havent found the answer in the forums. I purchased this truck and have been quite impressed with everything except the gas mileage. Hi - New poster but have been reading for a long time. For 2006, what happened to the loaded Frontier club cab? I haven't been able to get a straight answer from the dealerships yet. So, does anyone know if you can get the Frontier's side airbag package with the traction package. Nissan just started a $1000. rebate on 2005 Frontiers to help clear out inventory since the 2006's will be arriving soon. Local dealers out here are matching it for $2000. off.
