very reliable truck with good power.base model has all the features you would expect and then some. not quite enough leg room in the back seat for adults but plenty for children. much better ride than older model

Review

This is truck for truck guys, unless you need it to haul stuff and go off road on a regular basis there are more car like options (like cars and those danged SUVS). It needs better brakes and a new engine not to mention better paint and more room in the back as well as better NVH insulation among other things. On the other hand its cheap, tough as nails, very utilitarian and looks good. Plus its loaded and will last forever, has very low maintenance and retains its residual value way better than Ford, Chevy, GMC or Dodge (not as much as the Taco though).

Favorite Features

Wide number of body configurations and styles, no nonsense options list, arguably best looker out there, hard as nails, very utilitarian, cheap, fuel economy better than expected, only compact with crew cab AND long box (very handy), good deals abound, 2005 version is even better

More power, better fuel economy, more room, better paint, more NVH insulation

BAD GAS MILAGE!!!!!!!

The truck is very nice looking but the gas milage is poor!!!! I drove 1160 miles on it and put almost 97 gals. of gas in it! 3300-3500 rpm at 75mph! and thats with the 5 speed and 3.3 ltr. not recommended for alot of traveling! But it will fit a family of 4 in it nicely and the interior layout is very nice! ride is a little harsh but what truck isnt!

The exterior!!! Great styling! The interior layout is good and the rear cup holders serve their porpuse!

Suggested Improvements

All models should come with tilt! Factory floor mats seem alittle cheap! and the dash lights are not that bright at night. Some more support for body roll would be nice and even support for those windy days would help! Front seat belt height adjuster could use help!

Review

i like this truck except for the horrible gas mileage. driving down from san francisco to los angeles, it took me 3 fill ups just to make it. i was averaging around 13mpg. i had a tundra that at least delivered around 18-19mpg on the hwy. i try to drive with a light foot as possible, the best i got was 14.5 mpg. very disappointing for a V6. my advice, forget the supercharger, go with the normal V6, believe me, the power difference isnt that noticeable. and, go with the white colored gauges. mine had the black background w/c is hard to see in the daylight while wearing shades.

Favorite Features

ride comfort, the 4wd system will not let you down in the snow. and the long bed. no other small truck has it for a crew cab.

Suggested Improvements

better gas mileage, better subwoofer, the nissan/ rockford fosgate system just doesnt cut it. i had to add another amp, and different subs to get at least a decent bass response.

NISSAN FRONTIER ROCKS!!

Review

Three car seats fit in the back seat and the akita fits in the bed. The optional bed extender is a must for large cargo loads. This is the perfect vehicle for a family guy who needs a truck.

The engine is good, but more power is always welcome, Nissan should put a version of their 3.5L engine in it, and I heard that they will be doing just that in the '05 model redisign.

Review

If yur looking for a compact truck with outstanding quality, great features, and a super low price. The Frontier is for you. I shopped all makes Ranger, Dakota, S-10, Colorado and non of them compare to the value you recieve from the Frontier. Nissan should own the small truck market. Ford, Chevy they have nothing to offer except higher priced compact trucks. We love our Frontier.

Reduce Engine noise on exceleration. Add second rear jump seat.

Nissan Gone Bad

It looks good from the outside, and the inside isnt that bad. The only bad things I have is the terrible MPG and the wind noise.I mean, 20/22 is terrible for a 4-cylinder with 143 horsepower.

Better gas mileage or more power. Down here in San Diego,CA gas is at $2.30 a gallon and i'm a new driver. I've been considering trading in for a Toyota Corrola or something similar.

Review

This is the third Nissan 4 wheel drive I have owned. Put 120M with no problems on first one, $75M on second one and my kid is still driving with no problems.

Like where they put the emergency brake foot instead of hand
