You cannot go wrong with this truck or really any Nissan. Good quality and no issues to report. Great acceleration and power for size of engine and vehicle. Own the 5 speed and had cruise installed at dealer when purchased new.

Efficient, Great Truck
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 2dr King Cab XE Rwd SB (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Owned truck since new for over two years now. Very dependable, not issues to report at this point. Gas mileage is around 27 in the city and around 30 on the highway (5 speed manual). Doesn't feel like a 4 cylinder. Pulled a 2000lb trailer with plenty of power still.
Favorite Features

Suggested Improvements
More room behind front seats (improved in 2005 models and above)

Tough little truck
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 Rwd LB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
I have taken this truck off road as much as city streets and highways. It has been a great vehicle with decent performance. Acceleration is a little lacking but towing is not a problem at all. Top speed is limited by Nissan at around 95-97 MPH. My truck is loaded with the limited slip differential, skid plates, power everything, cruise, running boards, roof rack (which will actually hold the rated 125 lbs it's rated for). My truck came from factory with P265/70R15 BFG all terrain tires and full size spare. GVWR as equipped is 5220 lbs. This vehicle is my daily commuter, toy, toy hauler, and work truck.
Favorite Features
Nissan has done an outstanding job in designing and engineering a great all around truck. My favorite features are the ground clearance (almost 10 inches stock), skid plates, instrumentation cluster, and handling. The BFG tires and matching spare are a definite plus over competitors.
Suggested Improvements
The 2004 3.5 Liter V6 Crew Cab Long Bed Frontier is a little lacking on initial acceleration. However this lack of take off doesn't seem to get any worse under load or towing though. While the instrumentation is designed well the overall appearance is dull on the interior.

not so good
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 4WD LB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
If you like good looks, reasonably good fit and finish and a truck that starts every morning, then buy this truck. If you crave power and you don't like to deal with things like fixing brakes at 8,000 miles or replacing a good number of suspension components at 24,000 miles when you've never even taken it off road or outside the city limits of Saint Louis, then DO NOT buy this truck. The gas mileage is HIDEOUS considering the type of vehicle. Its not a full size truck yet gets the mpg of my 2001 F150 4x4 crewcab Lariat. Window sticker says 16/20. Right...more like 13/16. Also, the suspension creaks and the cruise won't hold on the slightest incline. Just too many annoying problems.
Favorite Features
It looks nice and it rides pretty well for a truck. Stereo is not bad and it really has very little wind noise considering the roof rack. I like the fact that I got a lot of options for the money.
Suggested Improvements
The cruise control is terrible, the suspension has issues, gas mileage is ridiculous and this truck has got the speed, handling and stability of a newborn calf.

great truck
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 2dr King Cab XE-V6 4WD SB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
I have had this truck for a year and a half. I looked at the other midsized trucks and could not find a better deal. bought for 19k compaired to 26 or 27 for the others. I have driven in all conditions such as 4 feet of snow, dry roads, and some light off road. Never had a problem with the truck getting me where I want to go. I would buy again if I had the chance.
Favorite Features
Price. The biggest bang for the buck.
Suggested Improvements
The only issue that I have is the squeaks in the suspension. It has no bearing on the handling just agravating.

2004 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 Rwd SB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
This is my 5th Nissan and my 2nd Pick up. This build quality is very tight, no squeaks. The gearing is nice for cruising and commuting. A very versatile truck for a dad with a 7 year old boy, an active wife, and 2 big dogs that all love to camp and explore the great state of Texas.
Favorite Features
I love everything about the truck. There isn't one particular thing that stand out. Well, maybe it's presence - it looks good.
Suggested Improvements
The Short Bed should come with a receiving hitch.

Review
This small truck was exactly what I needed for a new sales job, inexpensive, small, some carring ability and good gas milage. I have been back to the dealer twice to fix a noise in rear when braking, problem still exists. Fun and semi peppy to drive, sporty feel. It should be faster for a 2400cc, 16 valve engine, Gas mileage was 22, I thought it should be better for a 4 cylinder mini truck, K&N air filter and Flowmaster exaust improved it by 10%.
Favorite Features
Handling, fun to drive, Air and stereo work good. Like the looks.
Suggested Improvements
Nissan engineers could have improved engine performance and MPG with a little efort.

not the best
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 4WD LB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
Other than the non repairable alignment issues. And the bad welds on the frame it hasn't been that bad of a truck...
Favorite Features
the 5 speed manual looks mean stock sound sytem not too bad
Suggested Improvements
nissan needs to pay better attention to frame quality, the welds holding the leaf spring perches are separating, the crossmember for the torsion bars is not mounted on center so its pushing the drivers side front wheel out causing it to pull. im sure this is just my truck though...

The Final Frontier
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 4WD SB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
Overall this has been an excellent truck. My primary use is to carry clients to show real estate in the mountains of North Carolina. 4 wheel drive is a necessity in the winter and to get in and out of undeveloped areas. Has good visibility and is comfortable. Reliability has been excellent.
Favorite Features
Exterior styling is very cool, OEM cd player has never missed a beat. Stock ground clearance is great as is shift on the fly 4 WD high range. Guages are easy to read and controls are in easy reach.
Suggested Improvements
Cruise control won't hold an even speed. On flat highways it forces the tranny out of O/drive to hold a steady speed. Back seat needs another inch or two of space. OEM Goodrich Long Trail T/A tires are absolutely spooky to drive in the rain. Power steering could use more boost.

saved my life
Vehicle
2004 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 Rwd LB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)
Review
I bought this truck just in time I owned a little SUV and wanted something a little bigger in case of an accident. Well a few months after I purchased this truck I was rear ended on a freeway by a semi truck going they say 41-50 miles per hour I was at stop and this semi hit me and I hit 4 other cars. I walked out of it I do have a broken lower back and a really batter up body after the accident but it saved my life. The frame on the frontier is well built. My family and I really loved the truck. The only down fall about it is the gas mileage and could use a little more leg room in the back. The ride is like a truck and feels like you're driveing a big truck and has a nice feel to drive.
Favorite Features
4 doors nice interior feels like a big truck and has a nice ride height to it.
Suggested Improvements
could use a lager leg room for back seat and of course better fuel mileage.
