2002 Nissan Frontier 2dr King Cab SE-V6 4WD SB (3.3L 6cyl 4A)

Review

Upgraded from a 2000 to a 2002 Frontier. Shouldnt have. Same front end squeaks from the poor front bumper design: 2 trips to dealer. Mismatched decals and condensation in the bedlamp: 2 trips to dealer. Continual loss of coolant: Three trips to dealer, the last of which they decided to tear it apart and replace head gaskets. Thinking seriously about getting my old one back, if for some strange reason its still there...

Best Features

Looks are good as is the interior design.

Worst Features

Assemble them so that mechanically and structurally they stay together under normal conditions. What happened to the dependability of the earlier models? Too much time was spent on the exterior design without staying true to the performance quality and reliability.

2002 Nissan Frontier 2dr King Cab SC-V6 4WD SB (3.3L 6cyl S/C 5M)

Review

Looked only at several used Tacomas until we stumbled on this bright red truck. During the test drive we were both surprised at the comfort of the ride - far less bouncy than the Tacoma - much quieter - and the seats are superb - The engine has plenty of power both at the low end and at highway speeds. The high glass line adds to openess and the tuck is noticeably wider inside than the Tacoma. This truck had 35K miles on it and the interior looked new. Gas mileage after 1000 miles has averaged 15.7 - mostly work commute so far but would expect 18 or so on highway - Have been using mid level octane and seems fine - nice truck!

Best Features

Rugged look, Wheels, Engine, suspension and ride, quiet roomy interior, build quality, lots of 12 volt accessory outlets at handy locations.

Worst Features

Stock radio/CD could use a better speaker but not bad - easy to upgrade - would also like a maintenance free battery vs the add water type that is stock

2002 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab XE-V6 4WD LB (3.3L 6cyl 5M)

Review

After 2-years and 35K, I've generally had good luck with it, but I've also had issues. Several parts of the vehicle came loose; such as the steering wheel, rear bumper, driver window, lft rear window, center pillar trim, and seat material. All somewhat minor; except for the clicking/grinding in the front suspension...waiting for something to fall apart. I've also had probs with the cruise..still not resolved. Getting approx. 16-21 mpg,for cty-hwy,respectively depending on how heavy my foot is. It is really fun to drive and hasn't left me walking, so I'm not totally disgusted w/Nissan yet. BTW-My service visits have not been good experiences.

Best Features

Exterior styling, utility of the long bed and smooth ride.

Worst Features

Improve gas mileage, increase seat height and improve interior materials (kinda cheap). Service techs lack knowledge of products they attempt to repair.

2002 Nissan Frontier 4dr Crew Cab SC-V6 2WD LB (3.3L 6cyl S/C 4A)

Review

The vehicle performs well for a pickup at all speeds. Nice quite ride, lots of cab room (4 door Crew Cab), and a superior sound system stock.

Best Features

Engine, styling, drivability, off road handling, long bed usefullness.

Worst Features

A little more road sound deadening, better grade of tires off lot, seat material durability could be improved.
