I feel validated by this website. The Nissan dealership made me feel like I was crazy. Even after my brakes locked/ slipped and I ended up in the middle of an intersection. I was towed to the dealer and they said my brakes seemed normal. My 2005 armada had huge brake repairs in 2010 and again. In 2011. I've replaced booster. I don't trust my car anymore. What should we do? ... Read More
Yes, I have the same problem. I bought my 2006 Armada used from a local dealer in my hometown. Less than 3 weeks after I purchased the vehicle my Brake, Slip and VDC Off light came on in my vehicle. I reading the post of brake problems and it is the same thing happening with me, and the 2005 Armada, I also took the truck to the dearlership and they said that it was the brake booster and it would cost min. $850. to fix it but that I would still have trouble. I love my ARMADA but I do not feel safe anymore driving it. The company obviously needs to ... Read More
I've got this problem now with my 04 armada...brake light would come on at low speeds and had some braking left but made a nasty grinding noise. Would reset when car was turned off and on. shrpsaw, the problem is the IPDM, not the fuel pump itself. Try that and you should be good to go. I changed mine this past weekend and have been driving it everyday since and so far no problem. Read post #612 and it will show you the diagram on how to replace it yourself. Called a Controller at the dealership. Total cost of repair for myself 147.10
I have a 2005 Armada and was having the same problem with stalling, this past weekend, I purchase a IPDM (Integrated Power Distribution Module) from the dealership for 137.00 and replace it, so far no issues. At the dealership they call it a controller, it is under your hood behind your battery black fuse panel. It only took 5 minutes to replace and only tool that I needed was a screwdriver. ... Read More

I want to add that the brake power booster is defective as well. I just got back from the Dealer and they are charging me $833 to repair the brake booster. Depends on how the aftermarket system is setup. For instance I do security installs on Subarus, and we designed our fuel-cut system to cut the ground wire on the fuel pump relay. So in theory if a part of our security system failed the fuel pump would cut out. This is also the most secure way to protect your car. If I had to guess I'd say it's an IPDM issue. ... Read More
Just wondering if you ever got this fixed? My 04 Armada is having the same problem. It will stall while driving down the road at 50 mph or when idling. Have the IPDM (iIntergrated Power Distributor Module) replaced and your problem should be corrected, it corrected the stopping problem that I had with my 2005 ARMADA. FORD has a recall on their vehicles for the same problem but they knew how to correct the problem, NISSAN didn't. Hope this correct your stopping problem as it did mine.
change the IPDM (Intergrated Power Distributor Module) and your problem should be corrected. It corrected my stopping problem.
The IPDM (intergrated Power Distributou Module) caused my ARMADA to stop while driving. The fuel pump and Computer both were replaced but until the IPDM was replaced the problem existed. Now it is working as it did when I purhased it. FORD Motors has a recall for the same probled but the knew the problem and inititated their recall, not NISSAN.
Oddyssey, my fuel pump, computer both were replaced but the dealer didn't check the vehicle and it stopped again. When the car was finally checked the IPDM (Intergrated Power Distributor Module) was replaced, it was kept a day to see if it would continue to operate normally so far, it is corrected. If you haven't had it checked on your vehicle , do it. FORD has a recall for the same ... Read More
No matter how much any one out there defends Nissan and the Armada. The plain simple truth is that they have had these front problematic undersized brakes on the Armada since 2004. Why are so many owners of the earlier models being mis informed by Nissan ... Read More
Hey manaraki. The money factor that you were quoted is almost right. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s buy rate for the 2006 Armada is .00295 for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier and pay a security deposit at lease signing. Hey I hate hear that you are having such problems. I have spent several years under the hood of vehicles and this problem sounds simple. When does it shut off? Depending on how far and how long you are driving between shut offs, it could be a problem with your anti theft unit and key. My 2004 did the same thing in the first week. The dealer never programed the fob to the vehicle. So it could be a problem with the key or the antitheft box. Good luck. I hope your dealers are better than mine.
My recommendation is just a shot in the dark, but you have nothing to lose. The next time it happens wiggle your key in your ignition switch to see if the vehicle will restart. Sometimes the ignition switch goes bad, especially if you have a ton of junk hanging on your keychain. Also, the keys are chipped. Try a different key. Hopefully the trouble isn't in your steering column with whatever ... Read More
Yep, They said they do not get any codes at all and to keep bringing it in every time it stalls. They also said that it would probably have to get worse before they find something.
So they are saying that there is no info from the Check Engine Light? The CEL should be giving them all the info they need to at least start to diagnose the problem. -mike
Sometimes, not always. All the service lights generally turn on. I've already taken it to two different dealers.
Do you have a CEL after the incident? Generally you SHOULD have one after an incident like that. Try a different dealer. -mike
They are telling me that there are no codes coming up. That everything registers fine.
When an engine goes kaput there are usually codes that are triggered during the incident. So are you saying that no codes are triggered? That the dealer can't find the codes? Or that they are ignoring the codes and telling you they can't find anything wrong?

The sound I'm hearing isn't normal by any stretch. The louder I turn it up, the louder the ticking, sounds like a clock and can be heard over the music of my IPod sometimes. I think it is normal. Recently during the test drive I noticed this "static" after testing AUX. You're welcome minaldo1. I can certainly understand why you are annoyed. I would be as well if the dealer that I was working with was trying to mark up the money factor of the car that I was interested in. Try not to take it too personally though, it's just business. Now that information on invoice prices and incentives are available on sites like Edmunds.com, dealers are putting more effort into ... Read More
Need help. I have a 2006 Nissan Armada LE. I came factory installed with XM radio. I want to change over to Sirius. How difficult is this? Can the dealer do this by simply changing out satellite "boxes" behind the dash? Can I still use the same antenna or do I need a new one? Any help is appreciated and can also be sent to my email address.

Had a good experience at Pat Peck Nissan in Gulfport, Miss. We take delivery of our white '06 LE tonight 11/10/05. MSRP was 46,215 fully loaded including tech pkg with XM, and DVD. Invoice was 41,798. Our price including the 1500 rebate was 41,800.
I got a quote on an 06 LE. It has the nav and dvd entertainment, as well as technology package and some others. MSRP is $48,695. Working with CarsDirect.com. I'm a returning Nissan owner. They gave me a price of $43,683 (they said it excludes $1,500 rebate b/c Nissan does not include this on its "premier leases"). Still this is below invoice of $44,500 (roughly). The lease term is 39 months. ... Read More
