2013 Nissan Altima 3.5 SV 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl CVT)
Transmission failed after 4 months of ownership and chest after 5000 miles. Started slipping on the highway and then completely failed. Engine light came on which owners manual says is a exhaust emissions problem. Now waiting for repair. I then have to make the 800 mile round trip in take time off from work to pick it up once it is fixed.Nissan will not transport. Transmission died over holiday weekend on the way to visit family.
Prior to transmission failure, he was driving well. No high pitched whine others have described. Tracking was straight, no pulling. Actually had been some to drive.
I have now seen a couple of other reports of early transmission failure in the V6. Prior to the vehicles release, I did seem some websites raising a question of the high-torque in the V6 and if this new lighter weight transmission could handle it. Currently, I am concerned that question is being answered. Time will tell for sure. I would anticipate the power train warrant she will be extended significantly.
