2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
I bought this car with 6,000 miles on it.
Dealership had reprogrammed the CVT so the notorious vibration at low RPM's is somewhat eliminated.
The entire rear lighting assembly was replaced as others complained about.
Car DOES NOT get much more than 33 MPG as of writing this, but it should improve in warmer weather, at least it better (I drive all highway).
Still it's better than the 26 MPG I was getting in my 05' V6 Avalon and Solara.
Very nice handling and little road noise.
Comfortable car, fit and finish done very nicely. Had fog lights installed afterward.
Makes a big difference in distribution of lighting.
Style and interior roominess.
Plush cloth interior.
The lane change signaling was a thoughtful clever touch.
Just raise the directional paddle lightly and it signals 3 times for lane changes.
Very nice suspension.
Love the consistent delivery of power when pushed!
NOTE on CVT:
This is a transmission that is unlike anything you have ever experienced if you are used to gear driven automatics and manuals.
It doesn't perform like you'd expect in that you are waiting for a shift, but it never comes.
Next thing you know, you are doing 20 over the speed limit.
It takes time and adjusting to, but, beware.
All manufacturers are going in this direction for automatics so get used to it now.
Oh boy, I'm surprised the Nissan Engineers allowed the following into production: 1.
Loud whine from either steering mechanism or electronics control module (?)
Pronounced at idle and city driving.
Sounds similar to being in an airplane when you are at the boarding gate and waiting for passengers to board.
Honestly Nissan, what the hell were you thinking?
Wind noise ONLY from the passenger window.
Passenger will hear it on the highway and dealership says it's the mirror and aerodynamics.
Again, poor design.
Many key switches are not illuminated where they should making it very hard to see at night especially in a black interior.
No "1st" or minimum gear.
