2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
Love the riding quality and comfort of the interior.
But the noisy vibration when starting to accelerate is overwhelmingly annoying.
When the rattle is louder than your radio something is wrong.
We have taken it to the dealer and they are going to replace the drive belt and tentioner in the transmission.
They have already changed the exhaust pipe due to finding the O2 censor cross-threaded in the pipe. This however did not fix the problem.
Hopefully changing the belt will. Apparently Nissan is recognizing the problem and trying to find a solution.
We were much happier with the old CVT transmission and one less mpg on fuel mileage.
Love the body style and new "space seats".
The head rests on the front seats are positioned perfectly. The Bose stereo system is also very nice.
Don't try to fix something that isn't broke.
The old CVT transmission was a much better selection.
Have had the same problem and service manager told me that they are working on it, but obviously have not gotten it solved. Just put the old tranny back in, as they missed the mark with this one. Gotten used to it, just turn the radio up like I did on my old 51 Ford!
I had the belt and tensioner replaced. It solved the noise and vibration problem for abou 800 miles. Now the noise and vibration are back and progressively getting worse. Worst part is trying to deal with Nissan. Will never buy another Nissan ever again.
