Great car with a few improvements needed
Vehicle
2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
Review
Researched everything in its class. Liked the sports car handling of the Accords, luxurious and quiet ride of Camry, but the Altima was a combination of both. Biggest trunk for my work stuff, most comfortable driving position (armrests, steering wheel position awesome). Driver's legroom amazing. SL/Connection package great! CVT very odd but it works well. Pushbutton start is really cool. Only things need to be addressed are better rim/tire sizes. "T" rated 60 series tire gives great ride but mushy handling. Should come with "H" rating. Steering feedback is way to light, car wonders a little a speed. Trunk hinges are for cheap domestic cars not imports. I'm very picky and very happy.
Favorite Features
Pushbutton start, CVT good, overall driver comfort, gas mileage is what expected from sticker. Quiet, smooth ride. Overall looks inside and out. Would recommend to anybody so far.
Suggested Improvements
Weird rims/tires for a sportier car. Steering way too light, lose all feel for the fun car that it is.Trunk hinges eat up usable trunk space. No power passenger seat in SL package? WANT XENON HEADLIGHTS in this class of cars standard!

Great improvement
Vehicle
2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
Review
I purchased my 2008 Nissan Altima in April 2008. It has been a great car thus far, fun to drive and handles well. I love the push button start the most, you can't be the opts for a 2.5 S. Previously, I owned a 2006 Altima but it was totaled in an accident. The new Altima improvements are noticeable and you would think they would be in a more expensive car.
Favorite Features
Push button start, CVT, one touch, sunroof and power front windows.
Suggested Improvements
The driver seat shifts when making sharp turns, I noticed this in my 06 and the 08. Paint can be a little soft, easy to chip or scratch

Great value!!
Vehicle
2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
Review
The ride is excellent. It's fun to drive, a much better vehicle against its competitors, however I'm doing 19 mpg in town, instead of 24. I've not been driving fast so I can get the best gas mileage. But overall is a great car. I have been enjoying it very much!!
Favorite Features
interior design, ride quality.
Suggested Improvements
Better gas mileage, less engine noise.

2008 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl CVT)
Review
Our Altima is the best accommodation of sportiness with practicality. The 3.5SE hugs the corners, and is fun to drive but you do feel every crack in the pavement. The CVT is cool. 270bhp is great and probably more than the car needs. The mileage is very good as long as you do not use the engine. Disciplined cruising at 65 with no silly sprints, this car delivers 30 mph (if you believe the on board computer), but at 75 it is closer to 26. On a recent trip from NJ to MA, we did 515 miles on 20 gallons. The trip computer said we got 27.1mpg, but a calculator says 25.75. The premium package offers bluetooth which we like a lot. The Bose stereo is excellent. The seats are OK.
Favorite Features
Horsepower - smooth, generous and potent! Bluetooth - sensible and prudent. 40-60 folding back seat.
Suggested Improvements
The design is the dash is utilitarian and functional. But it doesn't dazzle in the same way much of the other features in the car do.

Love my Altima
Vehicle
2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
Review
Here in Canada the model is an SL. This car has outstanding fuel economy, I recently achieved 42mpg (imp. gal.)to and from work. This weekend we traveled through the Laurentian mountains and got 38mpg. This car is way better than a Camry and it's lousy shifting transmission, fit and finish the Altima beats it hands down. Anyone shopping for a midsize should put this car on the list, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Favorite Features
Push button start, Homelink, Bose sound system + bluetooth hands free, the CVT. So smooth and quiet.
Suggested Improvements
Maybe Michelin tires instead of Continental, but not a big deal.

Best of my Nissans
Vehicle
2008 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 2dr Coupe (3.5L 6cyl CVT)
Review
I have owned several Nissans most of them being various models of the Z car. I find this car to drive and handle better than all of them. I fell in love with this car the first time that I saw it and purchased the same day eventually driving it from Arizona to Texas. It really performed well and was very comfortable in driving cross country.
Favorite Features
Dashboard illumination, controls on the steering wheel really caught my eye.Leg room was very good and the styling was excellent.
Suggested Improvements
More variety in colors and interior. Larger tires and better fuel economy.Having automatic door locks would be a welcomed asset.

Fun economy car
Vehicle
2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
Review
I've had my altima for a few months now. It's comfortable and powerful. Averaging 28 mpg (30% city/70% highway) which is what I expected. The transmission is excellent though it takes a bit getting used to. The seats are comfortable and I can fit my 3 kids in the back (3 car seats). I compared it to other similar models and found it was more fun to drive than your camry, accord, fusion, sonata, etc. Between that, the looks, fuel economy and price, I found it was the perfect combination for my tastes.
Favorite Features
Looks. CVT. Comfort and fun-to-drive quotient.
Suggested Improvements
MP3 capable cd-player included on all models. Get another oem tire (the Continentals aren't very good for both noise and capabilities). Use trunk struts, not hinges. Add a little more resistance to the steering, it's almost too easy to turn at times (in the eye of the beholder of course).

I bought this car for my wife, who fell in love with it as soon as she saw it. Love the leather interior and looks. It also fits in our garage. my wife takes very good care of it (she doesn't want anyone else to drive it).

LOOKS, LOOKS, LOOKS and oh yeah gas mileage !!

Review
I've had about 10 weeks and 3,623 miles in my fully loaded 3.5SE. Overall, let me just say that I love my Altima. After A LOT of research (spreadsheets comparing mpg, leg room, head room, insurance costs, etc), I know I made the right decision. The 3.5 receives outstanding marks by Wards Best Engines. Performance is exceptional, and the CVT took getting used to, but now I have trouble going back to a normal auto. The Altima is comfortable, and has great front leg room, and rear leg room exceeds my 03 Accord, the BMW 5-series, and MB E-Class. I have averaged 21.8mpg city, and 29.4mpg hwy on a 1,152 mile trip (I don't drive slow). This means more room, mpg, and power than the E350 or 528i.
Favorite Features
The CVT is awesome. The nav system is intuitive, and NavTraffic has saved me twice. Interior materials are of high quality, and dials/buttons feel great. Intelligent key is great, and no less secure than the "old way". Oddly large glove compartment (6.5"Hx11.5"Wx16.5"D = my 17.1" Dell laptop fits)!
Suggested Improvements
XM sounds slightly more "tin can" than FM or CD (not too bad though), and there is slight vibration/rattle from the headliner during heavier bass (according to several owners, this is an easy fix at the service dept). Primarily no complaints though. Gave reliability an 8 since only time will tell.
Very happy

Review
You won't go wrong with this car! I drove all other major competitors and this one beat them (in price and creature comforts) hands down. I was skeptical of the CVT at first, but I absolutely love it now. I am a big guy and fit in this car very comfortably. Go Nissan!!
Favorite Features
CVT, push button start, keyless entry, fuel economy.
Suggested Improvements
The key fob's keys aren't set into the fob, so I tend to push them when I am driving. BETTER TIRES!!! Please!
