I just bought another Nissan. I'm abandoning Toyota in favor of Nissan. Last month I bought a Nissan 2004 Quest for about $23,800.00 out the door. We just bought a 2005 Altima S with the T01 (ABS and Side Airbag Pkg), as well as G01 Convenience Plus. We were going to buy a 2005 Toyota Camry SE which we preferred but couldn't get them to build one with Side Curtain Airbags. We waited 2 months and the order kept getting rejected. I own a 2004 3.5SE altima. It whines at around 45 mph and also 80 or 85 mph. The dealership thinks it is the transmission. They are getting me an appointment with a Nissan representative to further check the problem. I like my car, but the whining, and it is shrill, has got to go. I think Nissan really messed the Max up for 2004. The Altima IMO, is a better car and has more value to it than the Maxima does now. There was a time when the Maxima was the "Top" Nissan and the Altima was the more economical family sedan. You are right, it is next to impossible to find an Altima on the lots with the ABS/air bag package. That is so disappointing. I have no intention of buying a new car that doesn't come equipped with ABS and side airbags. It is AMAZING how much better the Altima is with that new interior. The layout reminds me a lot of the Camry SE. Even the basic 2.5S has a nice interior and is in some ways nicer than the LX. The EX verison of the Accord still beat the Altima overall in interior design/materials, but the Altima is at least on par with it this time. I could have brought the Accord LONG ago, ... Read More...
