Nissan Altima Call back

:( This my first posting since joining. I have had a letter from Nissan. Dated December 2005. It is in regards to the 2002 to 2004 Altima and 2004 2005 Maxima. It is in regards to a "possibility of Corrosion and cracking of the rear Sub frame bushings that may occur" This mostly due to cold weather and salt on our roads. Nissan is going to fix this area of the car, but your ... Read More...

I now am on 58k miles and on my third strut... none of which the dealer will cover. I have ssen the bulletin, but have yet to hear form Nissan... any input would be greatly appreciated... Re: Should we buy the Nissan extended warranty? [markr5]

Hi nrechtman. I just saw your post. I am thinking of buying a 2005 Altima. Did you buy the 4 or 6 cylinder, automatic or manual? I have been following the forums and it does not look like a lot of people have posted an inordinate amount of problems so I am presuming it is a pretty good vehicle. Have you been able to check the kind of gas mileage you are gettting. I would like ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Altima 3.5 SE front end noise [scott_houston]

I have an 04 Altima 2.5 S with the same symptoms. I took it into the dealer and they told me I needed new brakes (at 32000 miles). I have never had a car that developed a front end thumping noise due to brakes! I did not accept the repair and have not had a chance to get the car to an independent mechanic yet. One reason for the delay, is that I am now dealing with a bad radiator. ... Read More...

2004 Altima 3.5 SE front end noise

Hey group, 2004 Altima 3.5 SE has been completely enjoyable in the 19 months I have had it. I have noticed some bumps and noise on rough roads. I expect to have some of this because of the low profile tires and the fact that many Japanese sedans have a slightly bumpy ride (late model Hondas are much the same way). I have noticed a muffled thumping noise that appears to ... Read More...

Re: Bent Wheel vs. Alignment [financ]

I own a 2004 Altima 2.5S which I purchased in December of 2003 and have been dealing with problems with the tires/balance/alignment since the fall of 2004. I noticed that the front end of my car started to shake when I reached about 50 mph but not below and not above. I have always had the tires rotated and balanced on schedule. When this started, I had them done at the ... Read More...

Well, you are right Choe

I would have picked the Accord, if the 03-05 looked anything like the 06 that's about to get here. But I LOVE my Altima too. I think its the best looking car in the class right now. I just try to be very open-minded about things, and seek value. :), even at 19. I inherited and still drive a 1991 Honda Accord EX, along with my 2005 Nissan Altima, so in essence, I do drive an ... Re: gmc truck [gmctruck]

Right, my point being that its NOT REAL SAFE (your own words). Also, that you have one friend who did it once.... doesnt really represent a significant slice of the market..... Max- I may be wrong, but I can only recall that the Altima saw heavy incentives (meaning the $1500 rebate currently available in the NE region) as the 2004s were being cleared off the lots. ... 2007 Altima information...

So far, little is known about the next Altima. A few folks over at Altimas.net have gotten to see a prototype of the next model and they tell us that its styling will be VERY evolutionary. It won't be NEARLY as revolutionary as the 3rd generation model. Over at Altimas.net the thread is intitled "Auto study of the 2007 Altima" These folks, who were apart of a session ... Read More...
