Re: Altima MPG [thegraduate]

A base Altima 6MT weighs 3,112 according to Nissan's own website. 2002-2004 3049Lbs 2005 3075Lbs 2006 3090Lbs 2007 3055Lbs 2008 3112Lbs(!)(sedan)/3052(coupe) 60lbs in one year... But at 3055Lbs for a 2007 - less if you swap in some alloy wheels... It's awfully close to 3000 lbs. (I get ~3020 with alloys - about 10lbs per tire saved) 2009 Buick LaCrosse - 3495Lbs ... Re: Suzuki Kizashi 3 to shake-up mid-size sedans [mz6greyghost]

Of the other Midsize Sedans, Mazda's got a winner IMO. Being a current 6 owner, I'd like to think that my tastes have matured since 2004, and so has the second-gen 6. I'm right there with you on that. What I have been hearing is that our new 6 got quite bigger. Not as big as Camcord, but quite possibly near the size of the Altima. The more and more I hear from my Mazda buddies, ... Read More...

I have a 2004 Altima S, i have had alot of trouble with this car. It has around 109, 000 miles, i recently brought it in for a recall for the crank position sensor and have had nothing but trouble since. I had two sensors replaced 3 weeks ago, now the check engine light is on again and they're saying the code is for the 02 sensor. Is anyone else having these kind of issues? ... Read More...

Re: 2008 Altima 3.5 SE [ruking1]

ruking1... Well I bought the 3.5 b/c I like having a powerful engine. Money is not tight for me, but I do have a house payment, a new car payment, insurance now on two vehicles, etc...so I feel like I'm throwing money away using premium. It's not that much, but I just don't think it is necessary. My previous vehicle, a V8 2004 4Runner, suggested premium as well, but ... Read More...

Re: got to have it factor joke [choe13]

Based on C/D's criteria, too much body roll for their taste plus slower acceleration in the 1/4 mile plus the subjective factors like "gotta have it", were enough to put the Sonata 4th in the scoring. But as we've been reminded by other posters here, the raw scores don't tell the whole story. As you noted, the comments from C/D's editors were very positive about ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Nissan Altima poor radio reception [honeybzs]

Did you turn on the rear window defroster while you were listening to the radio? Mine plays the radio well as long as the rear window defroster is not used. Read More...

Nissan Altima vs Hyundai Sonata

Altima vs. Sonata

Hey Starryknight, I own a 2004 Elantra Hatch and I love this car! It's not the most beautiful/stylish or sporty car out there, but for the price and practicality purposes, it's the best car I've ever owned! I do a lot of city driving which i hate and I've accumulated 65,000 miles on it already. However, I've never had it in for repairs and the dealer is so great to deal ... Read More...

Re: nissan frontier 2.5 [kamikazejoshua]

I have not seen any numbers or percentages to indicate how common this occurance may be. I know that it happened to my daughters 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S at about 90,000 miles and I have read that many others have had the same complaints of the Cats failing, exhaust clogging and exessive engine oil consumption, generally ranging from about 60,000 miles to 90,000 ... c converter failure

I own a 2004 Altima 2.5S had 74,000. The check engine light was always on. Took it to a local and had brakes replaced and the light checked. The result of the check and a pre smog inspection, was a bad C Converter. Called Nissan about the possibility of the converter being in warranty, but they were unsure untill it was inspected by an authorized dealer. Nissan also ... Read More...
