I did see a base Altima at a Nissan dealer the other day and thought the dash didn't look nearly as nice as that in the Mazda6, Sonata, or Legacy. The cloth was nothing to write home about, either. Just like to point out that the Hyundai warranty only applies to original owners and the Nissan 10yr/100k warranty only applies to the repair/replacement of the CVT, not the powertrain and doesn't apply at all to vehicles that don't have the CVT. yeah, I would love to see Toyota do that! that would def go a long way to show the American public how much confidence they have in their products! Get new engine from 2004-2006 model and change the precat with after market header. Call Nissan 1-800# to check all recall (ECM-reprogramming, Pre-cat,etc) . If it is under 80k/8 years, you can get new engine + pre-cat from Nissan for free under Federal Emission Law.

check your fuse box in the engine compartment for a bad fuse. My wife left the inside light on all day and night. The battery was dead. Did you check the gaps of the new sparkplugs before installing them? (NEVER assume the pre-set gap is correct for your car's motor.) Did you accidentally drop any of them on a hard surface? (A bent ground electrode and/or a cracked porcelein insulator can cause lotsa poor running grief.) Any possibility you might've crossed a couple of adjacent spark plug cables to the wrong sparkplugs? BTDT!!! (been there, done that)

Wow, this does not sound good. How did the spark plug look, smashed up? Your first descriptions were that they were dark and gaps closed up, I took that as being that the gaps were bridged with carbon. But if the gaps are BENT closed and you have metal particles in the combustion chambers, it sounds VERY serious, it could go back to what I said about the piston ring problems. ... Read More

If there is no oil consumption and spark plugs are not flooded with oil, it’s good news. Engine rings, pistons and cylinders are still tight together. You just need to focus on electrical parts. The car bucking wildly is because of misfired due to ignition problem. I would replace both spark plug and ignition coil on the bad one. Crank shaft sensor problem is easy to fix. If not sure how ... To get the answer you are looking for, you need to provide all complete information, such as what engine is in your car, they make a 4 cylinder inline and a V6. The engine situation does not sound good, it should not be fouling plugs for many many years, well over 150,000 miles. I think Nissan, unlike several other manufacturers stepped up to the plate and said we have a problem. With the extended warranties and concern for their name I think Nissan will take care of you if you have problems. A friend of mine had a 2004 Chevy PU and is was using a quart of oil every 1000 miles and Chevy said this is normal. Go for the purchase.

It is AMAZING how much better the Altima is with that new interior. The layout reminds me a lot of the Camry SE. Even the basic 2.5S has a nice interior and is in some ways nicer than the LX.
