We had a used 94 Altima SE for 3 years, enjoyed the car and had good resale value. We now have the 02 Altima SE. My wife and I believe it is truly the sexiest auto on the road. The V6 deserves its acclaim. Power and decent MPG (21.6). I love to drive it. It meets our expectations and more.

You get the best of both worlds, a sporty looking car with the size of a midsize sedan. Comfort, quality, design, all great!

What a great vehicle to drive! I have driven just about every sedan in its class and this car drives and handles the best. Highway mileage for this beefy V6 is unheard of! Magnussen Auburn Nissan willing to deal when other dealer won't sell below MSRP.

What a good re-design Nissan made with the 2002 model, the 4 cyl. drives like a 6 cyl. and the drivers space has the most room out of any other 2002 model I test drove within the $20000 limit.
Even a 6 footer can be comfortable in this one!

I own 3.5SE 5-speed manual Altima for two weeks and I really enjoy it’s performance. However, I had to visit dealership two times due to excessive noise problem coming from back suspension. It is some kind of rolling-metallic-hollow noise, sometimes reminding kicked-basketball sound. It occurs at any speed and it's frequency is not related to speed - just the volume which peaks at around 90km/h resonating and piercing ears. Dealership so far was not able to fix this problem

I purchased an Altima 3.5 SE just before Christmas. A shrill, shearing sound occasionally crops up emanating from somewhere in the front on the drivers side when travelling at speeds above 70 mph. It last for up to a minute or so. The dealer first thought it was the tire, then the strut, and now wind noise. Have not been able to pinpoint the cause at this point.
I am about ready to invoke my Lemon Law rights and ask Nissan to replace the vehicle.

Have had my Altima 3.5 SE for 2 weeks.
Pros: Performance, Exterior(I've had at least 8 total strangers compliment my car..3 of whom thought it was a Lexus), Interior (huge, luxurious & nice in black).
Cons: Large turning radius, slightly noiser & roughier ride than Camry/Accord, Some cheap plastic
Overall...great, livable car for the commute/family with awesome power & fun to drive aspects....Now I just have to worry about tickets...
