You may be happy to know that the reports I have read state that the 370Z will be lighter than the 350Z. It looks like the amount of weight lost by the 370Z over the 350Z is the equivalent of a deck chair blowing off the Queen Mary. Nissan doesn't get it. They must not have anybody left alive that worked on the 240Z.

No shortage of spunk in your attitude, and that's a compliment. Unfortunately, I can't be quite as complimentary about the 350Z. I'm old enough to have lusted after the original 240Z back in the 1970's. IMO, Nissan's so-called "reincarnation" of that 240Z spirit produced a bit of a "wannabe" sports car that weighs 300-600+ lbs more than my 1995 5-passenger Maxima SE and uses the same basic engine as found in ... So I read all the problems that were posted about the 03Z and bought an 04 Touring automatic. I get 32 miles per gal on the open road. The Bose sterio is great, the car is tight,no rattles. The trunk space is not as big as the 2000 Mits Eclips that I had before the Nissan. But the Eclips is NOT a 350Z. I just moved to Florida from NY and still ... Read More

What a nice day today was, listening to music on my factory 350Z Nissan stereo. ; ) LOL I was driving along and when at the end of a stop and I hear this horrible noise, scared me BAD!! GEEZZEE WT?. I'm at about 7,000 miles on my Z and have a manual 6sp 2004 coup. When I'm at the end of my break there is this very scary clutch/strut/break KNOCKING ... Read More

Got my 350Z Roadster (Touring) about 5 months ago. It now has approx. 5,000 miles on it. It's now stuck in a shop. I was stuck in traffic a couple days ago, heard a slight rattle from under the car, smelled burnt plastic, and the car stalled. Re-started only to find it could be shifted into first but wouldn't engage. Pushed off the road, towed. Yes, I know how to drive ... Read More

Tacomaboy, My 2004.5 has no feathering yet *knock on wood* at 9000+ miles. So far I am happy, I hope to reach 15k before I have to replace the fronts. When posting, be careful when using the "2004.5" designation at the main "Nissan 350Z" form. A guy over there is arguing with me about using that. I posted about feathering and he knocks me for using 2004.5 LOL.

bowke28, Did you even read my previous response? Yes I admitted Nissan does not call the mid-year changes a 2004.5, and yes I admitted its a designation made by people on various Z forums. As I said, I just use that designation to represent the mid-year changes, as some other people do. I did not invent it personally, just picked it up from another forum. I think it is easier/shorter to ... Read More

I did not invent this, and it is common knowledge at other 350z forums (which I shall not mention because it is a violation of Edmund's rules). My mistake for assuming everybody knew about it. For those concerned about tire feathering, it would be best if you bought a new 350Z then getting a used one. I hear a lot of problems from owners who got either a 2003 or early 2004. My car is a 2004.5, build date is 10/2003. So far with 9000+ miles on it there is no sign of tire feathering or tire noise *knock on wood*. I don't know if Nissan ... Read More

Here's a very good site for practical 305Z fixes http://www.cliffshade.com/350zr/index.asp. That said, I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling that Nissan's "running" 2004 production fixes are all in place -- or will make it prior to the 2005 models -- and, even then, don't address the tire problems and transmission problems. I was considering buying one but my pockets aren't deep enough cover post-warrenty repairs and annual replacement of high-priced ... Read More

They sold just under 20,000 units in 2003 according to your link. YTD sales are down 14.2% through June. The good news for Nissan is the last time I checked their site they were down 17.5% (through April sales) so maybe there's some upward momentum but its hard to see how they will reach 20,000 units in 2004, much less 35,000. This week I bought a 2004 Enthusiast Roadster from Sheehy Nissan in Waldorf, Md. Price was slightly less than MSRP at $35,790. Options included floor mats, convenience net, aluminum kickplates and splash guards. Plus, the dealership included a Silencer security system at no charge (it requires an extra "key," so even if a thief somehow manages to get a coded Nissan key, he still can't start the vehicle. The pricing of 350Z, like all cars, is a local thing. A good price in Southern California may not be a good price in DC. Spend a day or two visiting the local Nissan dealers and you'll know very soon what 350Zs are going for in your area. No reason to wait for anyone to talk to his manager unless that's the only Nissan dealership within 50 miles. MSRP on a ... Read More

I am not sure where you are located, but 350Z's are going for a lot less than MSRP in the Washington DC area and have been for at least a few months. I would say that your offer of $1,000 over invoice for a "leftover" 2003 is very fair. If they think they can sell a 2003 for close to sticker, God bless them. Also, I do not believe there is ... In 4 months nissan has sold over 13k 350zs. I think 25k is certainly within reach. Now the 2004s I can't see moving at that level unless Nissan does something to keep interest up. A convertible will help, maybe later or 05 then a supercharged or turbo model. Constant updates are the only way to keep the car moving off lots. Especially a sports car.
