2006 International Car of the Year Awards Winners Announced

DETROIT — Road & Travel Magazine announced its 10th Annual International Car of the Year Awards (ICOTY) winners last week before the Detroit auto show. A jury of 12 nationally renowned automotive journalists selected the top 10 automobiles with ballots tabulated by J.D. Power and Associates. Edmunds' own editorial director, Kevin Smith, served as a jury member and co-hosted the awards ceremony.
The winners are: Dodge Charger (Car of the Year); Hummer H3 (Truck of the Year); Honda Ridgeline (Pickup of the Year); Pontiac Solstice (Sports Car of the Year); Hyundai Sonata (Sedan of the Year); Mercedes-Benz CLS500 (Luxury Car of the Year); Honda Odyssey (Minivan of the Year); Audi A3 (Entry-Level Car of the Year); Dodge Magnum SRT8 (Crossover of the Year); and Ford Explorer and Land Rover Range Rover Sport (tie for SUV of the Year).
