What Is It?
2005 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster
What's Special About It?
It's not unheard of for a good-looking new coupe to suddenly lose its top, and the Chrysler Crossfire is no exception. Entering its second year in production, the Crossfire adds an attractive convertible to its model lineup for 2005.
The Crossfire Roadster is powered by the same 3.2-liter, 215-horsepower engine that's found in the coupe version, and other specifications remain nearly identical as well. Nineteen-inch rear wheels help pump up the Roadster's boat tail rear end and 18-inch wheels help hunker down the front, giving the Roadster its aggressive stance.
For those coupe lovers who enjoy a sunny, breezy driving experience, the rush begins in merely 22 seconds. The soft, fabric convertible top folds down quickly, storing itself under the hard tonneau cover, which is decorated with two race-inspired fairings to aid in its aerodynamic appearance. To further enhance the Crossfire Roadster's sporty good looks and race car appeal, a retractable spoiler automatically pops up when the car reaches 60 mph.
