Nissan Actic

What Is It?

Nissan Actic Concept

What's Special About It?

Designed to deliver more than just a unique driving experience, Nissan's latest concept is as much a study in changing lifestyles as it is suspensions and engines. As a compact utility, the Actic has the space necessary for plenty of passengers and cargo without looking like a family room on wheels. Its unique reconfigurable seating arrangement allows up to five passengers to fit in a pinch, or give three riders more limolike room. A sky view roof up top and soft-touch materials on every surface give it a soothing air about it that's less minivan and more luxury car. Its final nod to the young and hip is a key fob that doubles as an iPod that assures no matter how big a hurry you're in, you'll always have your favorite tunes standing by to calm you down.

What's Edmunds' Take?

Although it wears a few interesting lines on the outside and has an interior that looks both functional and comfortable, we're finding it harder and harder to warm up to crossover concepts that promise the world. With similar vehicles already on the road, the Actic would have a hard time standing out in this already crowded field, but we wouldn't be surprised to see Nissan try anyway. — Ed Hellwig
