Mitsubishi Outlander vs. Subaru Forester

Re: Advantages only count when it helps Mitsubishi [chelentano]

EVO is off topic here, and besides, that Edmunds track test you keep referring to summed it up right up front: Is the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander GT the Evo of crossovers? Not really It's 0-60? 7.9 seconds. YAWN! My minivan suddenly seems fast. I “bail” on my car every couple of years to try something new and exciting 7.9 seconds is not exciting, now I know why you didn't ... Read More...

Re: 2.5 X Forester 2010 with Touring Package vs. 2010 Chevy Equinox [chelentano]

I went to the Mitsubishi Canada website. The first thing that struck me was how similar the body shape of the Outlander is to the Forester and the Outlander. I wonder whether the designers were the same. It’s interesting in reading the reviews on the Outlander that critics think that it’s exterior styling is great but most don’t think too much of the Forester’s. ... Read More...

Re: Advantages only count when it helps Mitsubishi [chelentano]

Outlander does slalom much faster and tows much more We shopped 4 cylinder models, non-turbo (so did the OP by the way), and the Forester actually tows more. It can meet that 2400# requirement someone just asked about, but the 4 banger Mitsu cannot. The V6 can, but again, this is a split decision. The slalom was impressive but was that pre-production? Lowered? ... Read More...

>> Too bad Mitsu doesn't offer a manual tranny here. Why, “too bad”? You did not even buy manual Forester? I can’t imagine you would be buying manual Outlander. >> I'd like to see Mitsu sell a Ralliart sportback - is that combination offered? Not to my knowledge, but Mitsu will be offering a smaller SUV 1.8L turbo combined with Mitsubishi's Twin Clutch SST gearbox ... Read More...

You're bench racing ... let's look at the results instead. The Forester XT is quicker and still managed to be more fuel efficient. Who cares how many ratios your slush box has when you're still trailing in acceleration? I was just at the Apple store this weekend, and for $2700 I could buy a new iTouch, plus a Macbook Air for me, plus a Macbook Air for my wife, plus a iPod ... Read More...

>> The first thing that struck me was how similar the body shape of the Outlander is to the Forester and the Outlander. I wonder whether the designers were the same. I wonder myself. Even steering wheels look like twins. >> Firstly, I'm not interested in the turbo Forester XT. Despite a lot of people on the Forester forums saying that it makes for a much better vehicle, ... Crossover SUV Comparison

Outlander review link

Found it: http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2009/10/il-track-tested-2010-mitsubishi- -outlander-gt.html I'm sort of disappointed they didn't offer the dual-clutch transmission, I recall in 2007 Mitsubishi said it would come. They must have cancelled those plans. Looks like Mitsu bumped HP to 230 and put on 18" rims. That explains the good ... Read More...

Re: Wow Great Thread [mf15]

My pleasure Mike. :-) Mitsubishi's poor sales are actually a positive for you as it will make the dealership more willing to negotiate price with you. Granted, if you are planning to trade the car in less than five years later, the worse than average depreciation will be a factor to consider. http://www.intellichoice.com/reports/vehicleReport/vehicle_nmb/41013/2009/Mitsub- ... Re: Wow Great Thread [mf15]

But may take a look at an Outlander 2010 when it comes out. The 2010 Outlander will be out in October. A couple of things to keep in mind. If you want to tow 3500lbs with the Outlander, you will need to go with one of the 3.0l V6 trims,4WD, and also purchase the towing package (would also be required for the RAV-4). Mitsubishi states that they have increased the power ... Read More...

Rear Fog Light: A tricky subject

Rear fog light in USA Outlander

I have already adapted the two side-marker lamps (both edges) from a 2009 Outlander XLS 4WD to accept a rear fog bulb (12V-21W) socket and respective connector, in addition to the side-marker bulb (12V-5W) already there. What I did was to order from the UK from any Peugeot dealer (they sell the 4007 model that has the same rear structure as the Outlander and indeed ... Read More...
