Edmunds TMV is above invoice, but if you read "Prices Paid" forum, everyone gets the Outlander below invoice. $28K below invoice price is possible exactly because of dealer incentives from Mitsubishi, which lack transparency and not publicized. Consumer incentives take price even lower. ... Read More
Sometimes the details are free at the NHTSA but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why they give you some free and charge for others. It'd be my luck to pay for one, and have the TSB read "please correct the spelling of Mitsubishi on page 6 of the Owner's Manual".
I also see you can get a summary of TSBs from this site (but must pay for details). Anyone know that the tow hitch TSB is about? I already had the driveability TSBs applied Make : MITSUBISHI Model : OUTLANDER Year : 2007 Manufacturer : MITSUBISHI MOTORS NORTH AMERICA, INC. response to post in the other thread >> FWIW, CR listed the Outlander under their list for highest TCO in its class. Forester was on the list for the lowest TCO. Since February 2008, I have contacted (emails) the following Mitsubishi dealers to ask them the best price quotation for a 2008 Outlander XLS AWD, no options. Capitol, Stevens Creek, East bay, San Mateo, Concord, South Coast, Poway, Riverside, Glendale, Sacramento, San Rafael, El Cerrito, Hayward, Viracom, etc My experience with the contacts has given me a better insight about how these “Internet” people operate. The first impression I have received was ... Read More

Mitsubishi is planning to equip UK Outlanders with the SST Twin Clutch transmission. A similar transmission was first fitted in the Evo X, and is also planned to be used in the upcoming Lancer Ralliart, both the sedan and hatch versions. I would care less for JDPower ratings. They are not independent, but they get paid by car manufacturers for advertising, unlike Consumer Reports. According to Consumer Reports, Mitsubishi Outlander ranked best for 2008 predicted reliability, beating Toyota RAV, Honda CR-V and everything else in the category. Small SUV Best: Honda Element, Mitsubishi Outlander Worst: Dodge Nitro, Jeep Wrangler (four-door) Midsize SUV Best: Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot Worst: Land Rover Range Rover, ... Read More
Those of you claiming offers of $1500 under invoice on a 2008 XLS must be getting it taken on the back-end with your trade-ins or financing. I've pretty much determined that I'm the only one shopping for an Outlander in my region since all 20 something of the dealerships I've contacted have not moved any inventory since I started looking 4 weeks ago. The best deal I've been offered is $1200 ... Read More
Could someone reports his/her experience in buying a 2008 Outlander XLS with 18 x 7J Aluminum Alloy (7-spoke bright finish). Usually the Outlander XLS is sold with 5-spoke wheels, however the 2008 XLS can be ordered with 7-spoke. This is at the Mitsubishi America web page. A dealer want me to pay $24,000 for a 2008 Outlander XLS no options + taxes and documents feeds. Is this price reasonable? Any comments ... Read More
The vehicle must all good, when you try to copy our wish list from "What do you like to see on next Outlander” tread on this forum. Any of those points above are hardly enough for "Why NOT to buy a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander” topic. To be honest, you should compare it to other cars in its class, and not to Audi, Lexus or BMW . Do you think they can ... Read More

If you ask me, you can skip the acc protection pack and the cargo cover if that will help you with keeping the price down. The 6-disc cd/mp3 unit should come standard, so them charge you extra for that. I don't have scuff plates on and I don't have deep scratches on the paint work. It helps with the looks but on you can still skip it, until you have kids, ... Read More
Boy does that sound familiar. Your darn right it is happening with other Mitsubishi vehicles. Just check out the 2007 now the 2008 outlanders. Same exact problem. Strips the paint right off the body. In fact I just got off the phone with the Mitsubishi District rep. & she gave me the same song & dance they gave everyone else, it is a "road hazard". Not a design flaw. When I ... Read More

I would offer even less than $500 below invoice. I almost bought an 08' for $1500 below invoice before I found the one I ended up buying(a new 07' with NAV, S & S, and Luxury pkgs). What I found is that for some reason these vehicles are not selling very fast and the dealers are willing to come down considerably. Just stand your ground when you make an offer. They ... Read More
Okay, been to a few dealers, and finally found a dealer that was cooperative, and nice. Really got a good feeling from these people... Anyway, we're looking at a black 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS, 2WD. Invoice is $22,389. We want the Luxury Package (Invoice 1400), so need to take the Sun and Sound Package (1409) with it. Finally, we're looking for a DVD Rear-Seat Entertainment. It seems as if that isn't ... Read More
