2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport ES 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl 5M)

My wife and I are the proud new owners of a 2013 Mitsu Outlander Sport in Mercury Grey. We test drove two ES models, one was FWD with the standard transmission and the other was AWD with the CVT. My wife actually was excited to have the standard transmission as an option, but in the end, she elected to forego the fun and added driver control offered by the stick in favor or the AWD w/ the very cool paddle shifting. We have nearly 1,000 miles on the vehicle in just over a week and have noted many highlights and only a few lows. The styling is aggressive and cool... almost menacing from the front. The interior materials are great and original. The AWD actually works and is useful.

Best Features

* Exterior styling! * Interior materials: The pebbled dash material is very nice - reminds me of the feel of a real leather football. * AWD Functionality: This works very well. The driver uses a mode selector that offers three options - FWD, AWD Auto, and AWD Lock. We have appreciated the AWD Auto very much this past week with the snowy/icy/wet road conditions and feel good knowing that the extra traction and control are available to us without concern about burning up the transmission as the computer is fully in charge of the system, providing traction and drive when and where needed. Paddle Shifters: Useful and fun! Wipers: Front and rear provide excellent coverage and functionality.

Worst Features

Back Seating Area: Needs different material to the front seat backs - hard plastic - to protect the seat back from little feet and mud/snow/sand. The Endeavor has this, as do several other vehicles that I have been inside of. Dash Lighting: The odomoter area is very cool w/ good lighting and several nice display modes that convey information about the driving experience. Sound system and climate control lighting are horrible - the red lights are not bright enough, difficult to see, and in conflict with the rest of the interior lighting... very disappointing. Climate Control: The heater works great... very hot air. Unfortunately, it seems that you only have the options of sweat or freeze.
