I know this is an old message, however, I purchased a 1999 Montero Sport Limited with 120K miles on it. I had it servicd Plugs only, to a tune of $500 bucks, two weeks later the belts started squealing loudly, I took it back to my mechanic, which I should have done in the first plac e and had all the drive belts, timing belt and water pump replaced, the new pump was $180. ... I recently purchased a 1999 montero sport limited, took it to the local tech shop to run some tests and wound up having the plugs changed to a tune of $500 plus.. A few days later, the belts started squealing real loud, we then took it to my mechanic to have them replaced, which I could have done them myself, however, I am glad I did, with 130k miles on this vehicle, none ... Montero Sport - End of Lease

My wife's lease on her 1999 Montero Sport is up in December. Other than exceeding the number of miles allowed, is there any thing we need to be aware of when we turn it in? I went by the Mitsubishi dealer and he had a Royal Blue 2000 Montero Sport LS the color which is not listed anywhere in their brochures/info. This is the color I'm looking for but in the XLS, now I talked to the salesmen and they said they had not seen any other blue in any model come in and couldn't tell me why this one had come in. It is the tires. There is another Montero Sport Bulletin Board at www.montero-sport.com with lengthy discussions by MS owners. Check it out. Not only is it the Yokahoma brand but the size of the tire itself. The problem seems to be only on 1999 vehicles though.
