  • Problems with mitsubishi tires, paints

    Written by: rdh7 on Sep 21, 2010 6:59:53 AM

I bought a 2008 mitsubishi GTS lancer 2yrs ago and notice a few problems. First, the paint had scratches. Then the dealer tried to fix the problem that the paint is like that. Secondly, the tires (Dunlop Sp5000) starts balding after 30k. Usually the front tires. Most dealer will not correct if you miss your first maintenance care. Just beware when purchasing a 2008-2009 Mitsubishi GTS lancer, you will replace the ... Read More

I would strongly suggest that you speak with Younger Mitsubishi (Hagerstown, MD). Talk to the Sales Manager directly. He's a very nice guy and is certainly willing to negotiate. They would even deliver to you if you're within a reasonable distance from them (perhaps 2-4 hours). They have a lot of DE's in stock. Let me know if I can be of any further help. I bought 2 lancers last year ... Read More

I recently saw on edmunds.com that among the trims available, there are 2 listing for the 2009 Lancer GTS - GTS - GTS N/A 07/08 http://www.edmunds.com/mitsubishi/lancer/2009/index.html When you compare both these models on edmunds, you find that in addition to the usual stuff the former has optional traction/stability control (exactly wat the edmunds review says the Lancer's lacks !). Is this a newer version/release ? Has anyone been able to lay ... Read More

Mitsubishi is going to race a Super Production Lancer dubbed "Racing Lancer" in the 2009 Dakar. The Rally vehicle will be powered by a 3.0L diesel engine, and the body shell will be modeled from the "Concept-Sportback", which is also the base concept vehicle for the Lancer Sportback, and the Lancer Sportback Ralliart to be released in Europe and subsequently in the US. While I'm glad to see the Mazda win despite no AWD and the oldest platform by far The platforms that a vehicle is built on really have no influence over the total package of the vehicle. There are many vehicles out there that use similar platforms and yet perform totally different. Example Mazda CX-9 > Ford Edge. TOTALLY different

While I'm glad to see the Mazda win despite no AWD and the oldest platform by far, I think the scoring methodology is flawed. They gave 20% weight for price and another 15% for fuel economy. Fuel economy is really just another way of expressing price, or rather cost of ownership, isn't it? Seems like too much weight on such practical matter for performance cars aimed at younger buyers. Since Edmunds ... Read More

Thanks to three turbochargers, 724 horsepower and five limited-slip differentials, comparing the 2008 Mazdaspeed 3, 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX and 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart should be more entertaining than a cage match between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and New Kids on the Block. Imagine the fun! Donny and Danny hangin' tough from the walls of the cage while Joey, Jordan and Jonathan get tossed into the crowd. Read more of this comparison ... Read More

Dunlop has an on-hand bulletin sent-in by Mitsubishi stating "There was a chassis modification done after the order of the Dunlop tires that go out on the factory 2009 Lancer GTS. Dunlop/Goodyear tires made in the United States will need to be put on the car to correct this pull. The Dunlop "Japan" versions will need to come off entirely. Hello everyone! I just wanted to share with you an ordeal that I learned while working with my very reasonable Mitsubishi dealership. I currently own a new 2009 Lancer GTS (about 150 miles) and it seems as though both the 08 & 09s are experiencing a pulling to the left while driving. The vehicle will pull to the left and many dealers tell the customer that it's either air pressure or ... Read More

per Mitsubishi's release dated 2/15/08. I believe Mitsubishi will add it to the 2010 models as standard, given that NHTSA rules will require 75% of a manufacturers light vehicles to be equipped with the technology starting September of 2009 (and 100% 2 years later). Also, I test-drove a 2009 GTS over the weekend. Disappointingly, the dealer did not have a manual on hand (neither did two other dealers I visited that ... Read More

I heard that next year (2009) Mitsubishi will release at 2.4L engine. Not 100% sure though. Anyhow I am happy with a 2.0 rather than a 2.4 ... Read More
