I bought a used 2003 eclipse for $6750. The dealer wanted $6950 for it. The radio was messed up so he gave me $200 off.The car had 71,000 on it. I purchsed a 1995 many years ago, I paid about $10,000 for it. I have been well pleased with the eclipses. I have gotten good service out of them so far. Of course the maintenance has been kept up. Jump starting my dead battery sounds off the alarm

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse appx 25,000 miles the service engine soon light came on and I had it checked on the computer it said heated ego sensor behind catalytic converter so I bought a oxygen sensor for after catalytic converter had it put on but the light came back on. Can they afford them without the cheap financing that existed before? 0-0-0 was zero down payment, no payments for a year, and 0% interest rate. On top of that, you could qualify for the loans with a less than stellar credit rating. Most of the people that I see driving around in an eclipse seem to be in the 25-30 age category. Can they afford a 2006 gt, which with tax and license is going to cost them $27-30K? I think that one of the primary reasons for the eclipses popularity before was that it was a relatively inexpensive sports car, especially with the 0-0-0 financing for anyone with a beating ... I finally test drove it the other day. It was fast! :) What an enjoyable test drive! The shifter seemed a lot smoother than the 2002 Eclipse GT I drove a couple months ago. However, the car did seem a little heavy when cornering, probably b/c of that heavy engine weight in the front. Very soon I'll drive the RSX-S which should be an interesting comparison. Read More...
