Re: Mr. Vivona are you still there? [vivona]
Good, to hear your ok... seems sad indeed about the faith of the Diamante in the US when I see the models still come out in the Aussie and New Zealand market. My 1999 Diamante except for some parking lot scrapes and a minor head to tail collision with an old lady driving a SUV is in otherwise good shape. I had to change rotors with Raybestos brand rotors as somebody on ... Read More...
Re: Mr. Vivona are you still there? [ccancio]
Yes, I am still here. I only visit a few times a month, though, as traffic has dwindled to a few mechanical questions that would require further diagnosis in order to properly respond. My 1999 Diamante is still running perfectly, with over 51,000 miles and no problems. My brake rotors are original and still perfect. It runs just like the day I bought it and I still ... Read More...
navigator89: Magna
Diamantes are no longer sold in the States. Mitsubishi purposely cheapened the car for this market, so it couldn't even be compared to the real Magna. We got the 4-speed transmission, no side airbags, no wagon or 4WD option. I was sooo close to getting the last 2004 VR-X but decided on another fine Australian automobile instead: Pontiac GTO (Monaro) :-) Read More...

Diamante owner looks back
My '98 Diamante ES was recently totaled at 97,000 miles and I chose to replace it with an '05 Honda Accord. I liked my Diamante but it was more expensive to own than I realized it would be when I bought it. Despite a $7,300 discount at purchase, and an insurance settlement $2,500 higher than trade-in value at the end of the car's life, my Diamante still cost me a total ... Read More...

2004 Diamante
I like these cars but why in the world wouldn't they put side airbags and a 5-speed automatic in this car if they are available in Australia? http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/mitssite/jsp/pages/vehicles/s- pecs/specs.jsp?groupId=3 No wonder they lost the most important market by purposely cheapening the car... Re: death bell has been rung [lngtonge18]
Exports of Magna to US axed July 28, 2004 - 5:34PM Exports of the Adelaide-built Mitsubishi Magna to the United States have been axed. The decision from Mitsubishi America is another blow to the Australian carmaker which has already announced the shutdown next year of its engine plant in Adelaide and the loss of about 350 jobs at its nearby assembly ... I haven't come across any D accesories on the net, although i have spent a lot of time looking at web pages for the Diamante / Magna that are in Austrailia where the car is made and is more popular. type Mitsubishi Magna in google and see ... tall1-99 Transmission and brakes
I trust you had the transmission replaced under warranty and at no cost? Did anyone touch it (i.e. replace the fluid) prior to that? As to the brakes, there is no known design or manufacturing defect that makes a Diamante have brake pulsation every 5-7000 miles. The problem is common with any car with zero-tolerance wheel bearings (a good thing) when a mechanic ... Read More...
