Mitsubishi Diamante Maintenance and Repair
Re: Mitsubishi Diamante 2003 Heater Core [tmicciche]
I too have 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante, and I heard from different Diamante owners complain about their heater core had to be replace. I have 55,600 miles now and thank God I have met that problem yet but I had to replace two of my engine mounts . That cost me 563.00 at the dealer. The other day I had to replace the head gasker that was leaking, thank God that was under the ... Read More...
Re: 2001 Diamante TCL Trouble [hank_in_oc]
Thanks, Hank. Actually, I had mine to our local Mitsubishi dealer and they said the throttle plate was sticking due to carbon buildup, so they suggested trying having it cleaned first before spending the $1,600 for a new throttle body. I spent $238 for the cleaning (which I still think is a lot of money) and that was two weeks ago. No problems since, but my problem ... Read More...
Re: 2001 Diamante TCL Trouble [stemog]
So sorry for not seeing this post sooner. I just experienced this exact problem and ended up solving it at about 1/4 of the cost the dealer originally wanted. I don't have the part numbers with me, but I ended up replacing two sensors in the throttle body. It's been about three weeks since the repair and I have experienced no trouble at all. I bought the parts on the ... Read More...

jim78-Buying a used Diamante
You have to keep in mind that internet forums are an extremely small sample of enthusiastic owners. If they have a problem they post it enthusiastically like every car of that make and model has that problem. You can get a more accurate view of the relative reliability of a car through professional reliability ratings such as: http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/reliability.aspx?year=2001&make=Mitsubishi&model=Diamant- ... Re: atlanta buyer [lngtonge18]
Thanks for the response regarding the purchase of a used Diamante. I may have found one. I'm now looking at a 2001 ES with 65,000 actual miles from a private seller, second owner. It's got a clean car fax. He's had it detailed and it looks great, good leather and all of the electrics work. It drives great with no sign of warped rotors. Big Question: the ... Read More...
Looking at a used Diamante
Hello everyone: I'm seriously considering a 2001 or 2002 Diamante with around 40,000 miles. I've always thought the car was beautiful and I've rented the Diamante a few times. I'm well aware of the depreciation on the car--that's my motivation for buying used. What should I expect in terms of wear, repairs service, etc. At what mileage am I looking for ... Read More...
