Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager problems
Brake Caliper Mounting Bolt holes
I have a 1994 Mercury Villager and the caliper mounting bolt holes on the steering knuckle are rusted, corroded and are a tad oversize. I have purchased an oversized bolt to remedy the problem, but instructions say it is for one time use. Anyone know of a more permanent fix?? Hopefully it will be something relatively easy to do and not very expensive. Thanks Read More...
Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager Starting & Stalling Problems
Re: Power Loss AND Stalling [superxray]
Same exact problem on 1994 Villager. Six Mercury dealers couldn't read computer codes, nor could they fix it. Ford Motor Company (Mercury) service center won't answer emails. 1 Nissan dealer said they could read the codes but refused to work on a Mercury Villager. 3 top independent mechanics have given up. One dealer changed fuel pump. . . $700 Another dealer ... Read More...

Fixing Villager manifold...??
I have a 1994 Mercury Villager with 139,000 miles & among other suddenly occurring problems, a cracked exhaust manifold. My mechanic told me about frquent issues with MV manifold studs, etc. & I've also read some on-line, here & elsewhere. Since the van needs engine/transmission mounts & we just paid $400 to replace steering column bushings, we're looking ... Read More...
2002 Quest/Villager vs. MPV
I had (sigh) a 2000 MPV that I loved. It unfortunately was the victim of a red-light runner (I think -- insurance adjusters haven't gotten around to looking at it yet). It would appear that we're going to have to get a new van. Ours was a LX with touring package. It had 91,000 miles on it and was scrupulously maintained. What would be a fair value for that ... Car seats replacement.
I have a 1998 Mercury Villager GS with 2nd row bench. Can anyone tell me if seats from a 1994 Quest fits on this vehicle, my seats are kinda dirty and I found a junkyard that have some decent ones. Thanks. Read More...
'94 Villager
I think the '94 Villager I just bought does indeed have a leaking head gasket. The previous owner gave me all of the records and I read through them last night. There are mentions of a coolant smell in the engine compartment going all the way back to 1996 when the van was still under warranty. Each time the dealer said they couldn't find a leak, until August of 2000 when ... Read More...

In reference to your brake light's not working, I have a 1994 Villager Nautica that had the same problem. I changed both bulbs at least 3 times. Turns out it is a wiring problem, which Mercury dealer informed me was covered under a recall. albeit a quiet one. Check with your Nissan dealer, and you will likely get it fixed for free. Make sure they do both tail-lights. ... Read More...
