2008 Mercury Sable Premier 4dr Sedan AWD (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
Almost bot 2005 Montego but backed out at the last minute. Was nervous over engine and quirky CVT. '08 offer sufficent power, smooth 6 spd trany. All other features - space, ride, safety, still there. USA Today auto editor said that front end bounces too much over sharp bumps. I can't find this at all. Some have said that 6 spd trans too slow to downshift and "hunts" too much for right gear. I disagree again. Exterior design may not be a medal winner but certainly not ugly. Is some tire noise w/ 18" Pirelli's but no where near a deal breaker. A very underated car.
Space, visability, comfort, paint quality, good fit and finish, safety rating, features, good handling given size of car
Deeply burried gages hard to read in strong sun light, lack of protective side moldings
