2008 Mercury Sable Premier 4dr Sedan AWD (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
This car had 49K when I bought it last August. Put about 15K on it so far. Drives & handles well. Wish the drivers seat floor didn't have the mound on the left side and the floor was a bit wider. Console is in an awkward position to retrieve change or plug a device into the USB Port. EVERYone who had rode in this car has nothing but compliments about it. Getting about 400 miles to a tankful (19 Gallons) with most of my driving being city while trying to get to the highway. Plenty of room in the back seat. Quiet at 80mph on the highway.
SYNC is Awesome!
Friend says the voice-recognition works better than his 70K Lexus. AWD - Very little snow this winter in the NE, but I traded in a 2000 F150 4WD for this, and it has much better traction than my truck did.
USB Port - Fantastic. Couldn't get my cell's Address book into the car. Logged onto the SYNC Website, put the newest Software on a thumb drive, and within an hour or so (with the engine running) had the latest & all the phone features were working. I own a MS Zune & have 4-5000 songs on it. It is truly amazing how fast it finds & plays the songs! Stereo system is very good. Seats are comfortable. Wish this had a sunroof.
Driver's side Heated Seat Element Failed.
Appears to be an epidemic, but Ford refuses to believe that. Think the whole problem is the wires are too short, and the method in which they are routed, causes them to pull apart - causing the element to fail. Google Ford Drivers' Heated Seat & tons of hits. Transmission does occasionally have the low-speed shift clunk/harshness. I can live with it. Wish it wasn't there, but isn't the end of the world.
Supposedly a software update for it - heard good & bad. Throttle tales a long time to release after hard acceleration. Miss the Illuminated Fog-Light switch my truck had. Thing the Taurus Instrument Cluster looks better than the mercury.
