    I just had both heads reworked and R&R water pump, spark plugs&wires, cap & rotor on mom's car after she ran it hot and blew both head gaskets. I did all the installation myself.     It looks like we are about to add a 1992 Mercury Sable GS (Vulcan) to our family, as my mother-in-law has decided to stop driving at age 91. This car is basically the definition of cream puff. Only 24,000 miles, garaged almost all the time in an unheated attached garage, and essentially like new condition, with excellent maintenance.     Actually Sable has highest JDPowers initial quality rating in its class. I think the problem with Mercury is that it doesn't have cool cars. The only one - Cougar was discontinued. Next Cougar will probably be based on Mustang and I hope it will be refined one with independent rear suspension, DOHC engine and so on. I have two Tauruses.     I bought my 99 SHO last month with 6000 miles for 20,500. My brother in law two years ago bought a new loaded SHO for a bit over 24,000. No one with a right mind will pay 30k for this car.
