As a former police officer, I knew what I was getting into when I bought this car. It's exactly like the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor - except it's in all black, has leather seats and upgrade gauges, and has the 01' Cobra 4.6 stuffed under the hood. Half of the people look at it because it's cool, the other half think it's the cops.
Power adjustable seats and pedals. The lumbar support is great. Appearance - menacing. Audiophile system is loud. The car comes stock the way it would be upgraded if it didn't... if that makes sense.
Well, wishful thinking, but an '05 Mustang 4.6 runs on regular gas and gets same/similar horsepower and torque numbers. Aggressive cornering doesn't work great with no real seat bolsters. Rear parking sonar is a must add-on.
Still as much fun as when I bought it 4 years ago. Best Advice, get a power tune or a chip, Your transmission will shift smoother and your engine will awaken from its factory EPA settings. Big Black and Fast! And still nice enough to take on vacation or out to dinner. You can achieve 23 mpg fully loaded at highway speeds.
Sound of the engine at any speed. The stance of the car and the rarity.
None needed. Stock to retain best value. Supercharger if you need to be King of the road.
*Note, I am the second owner of this car. I bought the car with 32,000 miles on it. Original owner had to have some warranty work done it. The radiator had gone out as did a window door switch. So far, the only problem I had with the car was a dying car battery. In stock form, the car is slow to get up to speed and I don't care much for the stock 3.55s. Ford could of done much more with this car. I've done a SCT xcal tune, coutersy of alternative automotive, to the car and switched the rear gears out to 4.10s and it is much faster. Makes a great daily driver. Very reliable, gas mileage is modest if you can avoid stepping on the gas all the time.
Floorshifter, volt and oil pressure gauges. Dashboard is nice and simple and all the controls are easy to use. Power is nice in upper rpm range. I also like the lock up function on the torque convetor. It makes highway driving much more fuel efficent. I also like the Megs exhaust tips.
The car could of made a lot more power from the factory. I got 20 extra hp with a simple SCT retune. I also wish they used the Mustang Cobra exhaust manifolds instead of the iron blogs the car has stock. They could of easily got 320-340hp out of this motor out of the factory.
