Disappointed in new Mercury

Review

I bought a new Mercury Grand Marquis Premium LS about 2 weeks ago. I had it up to Interstate speed earlier this week and discovered that the wind and tire noise are horrible. It is so loud that it drowns out the radio. I took it back to the dealer who claims to have test drove it along with another new Mercury. He claimed the other new car noise was as loud or louder than my car. His conclusion was that the noise was a design flaw and there was nothing he could do. I have a hard time believing Mercury would manufacture a vehicle with this much driving noise, but apparently they did. I cannot and will not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Must reduce road noise. Heat will not blow out of dash vents when it is set on auto. Heat is blown on your feet only. Have to switch to vent setting for heat to warm upper body. This needs to be changed. Make daytime running lights standard.

With all its looks, the dusgusting thumps, bumps and grinding wheel noises (dealer says tire is noise cause; he shyed away from:which tire is it?) it's a much improved driving experience. I believe the noise is ignored for business reasons. It is disturbing and I will have an independent garage check it out.

This car is wonderful it is built really well it is sturdy and strong and it has great safetey ratings and the ride is much like that of a Town Car and the overall exterior fit and finish is awesome everything looks really good and classy and i like the fog lights but when it comes to the interior it looks a little cheap so much the leather and wood trim as the dash and air vents and steering wheel i mean the color looks really dull and bland i mean 5 years ago the Marquis interiot looked real expensive but dont get me wrong its still a very classy car but the interior materials should be better for a car like this but i would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a stong safe sedan

Keyless entry Fog Lights and overall design and styling of the vehicle looks great so i guess the whole car is my favorite

Mercury should use better interior materials like they did 5 ,10 years ago

My 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis GS is just a regular sedan just the basic model and it has all that i need it has a smooth ride huge trunk roomy interior great looking wood trim and a cd player and a powerful V8 Engine so what more do you need and it handles great and i love the paint color light tundra with grey interior looks really good and i actually like the chrome hubcaps they look better than most painted hubcaps but when they get dirty they do look alittle cheap but then i get them shined up and they look great again and i like the new fog lights that come on the vehicle and i am really happy that i got a low monthly payment only $350.00 thats low compared to a $600.00 a month Chrysler

I love the whole car it is the best and i am going to keep it until it really wont go anymore

This car is more than i could really ever ask for i love it this is actually my first new car i am only 19 and i have to say i am very pleased with my new Mercury in my opinion i wanted something different than the same old Honda or Ford or Chevrolet so thats why i chose Mercury the Grand Marquis is great it has a smooth quiet ride and elegant wood and chrome finishes and i like the fog lamps and i enjoy driving this car with those huge comfortable seats and i just love the whole style and design of the car to some people it might not be as refined as others but it gets the job done and thats all that matters so if your looking for a Safe American Made Luxury car Grand Marquis is a must

Powerful V8 smooth quiet ride big comfortable front seats and the keyless entry 6 disc in dash cd changer and the fog and side cornering lamps and the over head console and the power moonroof i just like the whole car

The Mercury Grand Marquis is the best in its class it has a big roomy comfortable interior with great looking wood and leather trim and i love the dark red paint color it looks absolutely beautiful and i like the new fog lamps and i like the powerful V8 engine and i like the chrome rims that came on it this car ride excellent and handles great and i feel so safe when i am driving this car because it has 5 star safety rateing in all categories and i am also glad that Mercury put the antenna back in the windshield because the 05 model had it on the back witch did not look that great on it seeing how there has not been an anteena on the car since 95 but i am glad it is back in the windshield

Powerful V8 Engine huge roomy interior Dual power heated and cooled front seats and the great looking wood trim in the doors and on the dash and in the steering wheel and the chrome door handles and the keyless entry and just the whole car

Should have about 285 horse power instead of 224 horse power but it is just fine

This is a luxury car that is value priced. It is a very safe vehicle with very low insurence rates. The car has a lot of room, and is great for long drives it is very spacious, and you can travel in total comfort. this car has all of the luxury you would want at an axceptional price.

the smooth V8 engine, the very big trunk, the rich appointments, the room for 6, the elegant design and the price.

I love My 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis GS Convenience two tone package witch includes body colored door handles hood ornament chrome plated scuff plates the Mercury Logo printed on the back of the seats and i love the huge trunk and comfortable leater seats and i love that White on Tan Paint it looks great and i love the new fog lamps and this car has all you could really ask for but i just wish people would not say its a grandma car because it's not, it's a car for anyone who wants one of them and i highly recommend the Grand Marquis it is great its like it a Lincoln Towncar with a $28,762 price tag

The new 06 Grand Marquis is the bomb it have a super smooth ride and a roomy interior and a great design inside and out and i really like the wood grain accents looks real classy and a powerful V8 engine it really moves the car and it gets great gas mileage atleast 21 mpg it has a really big trunk and i also like the heated and cooled front seats and i like the electronic dash and the 6 disc cd changer right there in the dash and i like all the chrome trim on the body amd mine came with chrome package which adds chrome below the doors and the side bumpers and chrome lips around the tires and the mercury logos on the side of the back doors and i like the side cornering lamps

Not so "Comfy" Marquis

When I purchased my Marquis "Ultimate Edition" brand new, I thought for sure I'd be buying a car that would ride like a cloud. Instead, I have a 4,200 pound modern day buckboard. This car's suspension is very unforgiving and downright hard riding. If you must purchase one of these cars, be careful, and don't buy one with the optional "handling package" ($615.00), because the suspension will be set up whereby you will feel every little blemish in the road surface. And also, the $895.00 "Premium Plus Audio Package" is a waste of money, since the rear speakers distort and rattle, but the dealer insists that this is normal. Need I say, this is my very last purchase of a Ford product....ever.
