The above is the title of Technical Service Bulletin 02-2-2 issued by Ford in Feb. 02. on their 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. Yesterday we paid over $600 to have this problem fixed. slinger31 thanks for the info. I'm glad it worked out for you. I am waiting for a technical rep to contact me. They keep telling me it's not a safety problem so there is nothing they can do. I would love my money back so I can buy anything but a Ford/Mercury product. It seems my problem isn't from the engine. I've been told it's the new size tires from 1997 on up. They went ... I just looked at a 1997 GM LS with 27,000 miles at a Ford dealership yesterday. The car was impeccable, fully loaded, silver with silver color leather interior, alloy wheels and digital dash.
