What's New for 2002
New colors spruce up the outside, and all Cougars get the formerly optional Convenience Group (cruise, remote keyless illuminated entry and rear wiper/washer) as standard equipment. Evidently, the Zn (Zinc Yellow) feature car from 2001 failed to get buyers' pulses up, so Mercury tries again for 2002 with the XR package, which includes special red or black paint, a rear spoiler, a fake hood scoop and special logos. The Cougar C2 feature vehicle makes a return engagement for 2002. Sadly, the shelved Cougar S never materialized.

Review
I love this car. It is a blast to drive, especially on a windy road. Even though it is nearly 7 years old, it still looks and drives like new.
Favorite Features
The engine is incredible. Smooth, solid and strong.
Suggested Improvements
Not a great car for long trips (6 hours or more) - but great for every day commuting. Start making these again!

One of the best cars I've owned, easy fun to drive, got some power to it, would be nice if they could get a more powerful v6 in it

sun roof, frameless windows, 6 cd changer, the leather seats and leather steering wheel

new grill, maybe a different body kit.

Review
I have loved this car since I bought it back in 2006. I don't treat the car very well but it has been tough. It's VERY comfortable. I could go on and on about things I love about this car.

The seats are comfortable, the moonroof, 6 disk cd changer, mpg computer, the style of the car.

I have had my 02 Cougar for a little over a year, I haven't had any engine trouble no big problems. few problems with the rear visibility and huge blind spot also the arm rest isn't there and no mirror on the passenger Visor... other than that good mpg. all in all good Car

Review
I have not had my Cougar very long only about a year and I love it, despite the moon roof and the 6 disc cd player dont work, but minor things can be fixed! Otherwise this is a great car! I have a 5 speed and its super fun to drive. They are hot sleek cars that people look at when you drive by! Having the V6 really helps with the outter look! Very sporty reliable car!

Leather seats, power seats, exterior, keyless entry. Everything I guess!
Suggested Improvements
To make it easier to find the same 6 disc player to replace the one thats in mine. It stoppped ejecting and playing cds. Moon roof stopped opening last summer. have to look into it still.
