Mercedes-Benz S-Class Lease Questions
Re: [juice1220]
OK, let's take a specific example. Back in 2006, I bought my dad a 750Li. The MSRP was slighly over $93k. I just built the same model on bmwusa.com and it came out to slightly over $90k. Bake in the inflation, it went down a lot. Which MSRP are you referring to? I'd like to see specific figures. I live in California. The only area S550s are selling well is probably NYC. ... Re: Mercedes instead of a BMW as your luxury car of choice? [bmlexus]
Yeah, you know what I found in doing my research? That there's an ageist component to the demographics of MBZ afficionados, which is really weird to me. According to some of those surveyed, they thought MBZ "was for old people." I responded, "well maybe it's because they last so long!" I plan to keep my 2006 CLS500 for over 120,000 miles, a) because I drive ALOT and ... Read More...

Re: A SOON-TO-BE OBITUARY FOR MERCEDES BENZ [reality2]
Less than 10% of Mercedes sold in Europe are S-class. The overwhelming majority of Mercedes sold in Europe are A,B and C classes. The majority of E class sold in Europe are essentially taxicab varieties that have are more lowly equipped than the lowest E class sold here in the US, with 1.8L, 2L, 2.2L, and 2.8L engines. 2006 witnessed Lexus sales in Europe increase ... Re: A SOON-TO-BE OBITUARY FOR MERCEDES BENZ [brightness04]
This is stretching it a bit. Mercedes-Benz sold over 650,000 units in Europe for 2006. Yes, they offer much more in terms of range than Lexus does in Europe, but to assume that the majority was "econoboxes" is a bit sore grapes. Lexus barely hit 40,000 units or so in Europe for 2006 with the majority of increase coming from the RX or the IS and definitely not the LS. ... Read More...
Re: Oh, the LS has an edge alright. [drfill]
Oh, I beg to differ. Where did the S-Class commercials come from? I thought the S was so incredible it didn't need to advertise? I love it! You change the subject when you're licked! We were talking about the LS getting a series of lukewarm reviews and now you're talking about Mercedes S-Class advertising. Think Mercedes noticed that the buzz is gone, just like ... Read More...

Among the vehicles predicted to be least reliable by Consumer Reports, a total of eight Mercedes-Benz vehicles made the list, the most for any one brand. These are the S-Class (2006), CLS, E-Class Sedan, SL, CLK, SLK (V6), M-Class, and R-Class.
