Enjoyed this car very much
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R350 4dr Wagon AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
Leased this car for 27 months and I was initially skeptical that I would like this car/suv/wagon. I very quickly learned to really like this vehicle. Quiet, roomy, decent performance and mileage.
Favorite Features
3 rows of full-size seats (six adults fit comfortably).
Suggested Improvements
I'd probably change the gear shifter to something more traditional but not a big deal.
Gadget Mania.- Not your ordinary SUV

You name the Gadget - this thing has it. If you actually read the manual (500 pages)you will discover why a Mercedes costs more than most cars on the road today. Example- hold down the heater button after the key is out and the system continues to blow hot air for 20 mins. So while you run into the store for a few quick things, the car is still warm when you get back! The list goes on and on and on. This is an amazing vehicle if you're a gadget freak like me. If your not, you could foolishly mistake it as just another SUV
Favorite Features
Integrated: Phone & Ipod hookup. Panoramic roof, fold flat 2nd & 3rd row seats. ETC ETC
Suggested Improvements
More power in the V6 and better O.E.M tires. Michelins burned away like flash paper

Drives nicely, low maintenance. Changed 4 tires at 23,000 miles looks fancy and with style not to many people have it. Paint always looks shiny looks as new. Good acoustic, you can all talk and be heard inside the car, different from other vans where only the people in the front can talk. Very silent the motor, no noise from the outside, you get the feeling you are inside a private mini jet.

It's an excellent car with great performance during extreme weather conditions. This car cuts through snow very nicely.

Only negative part that I don't like is the very small trunk. You can barely get one week groceries in it. No room for luggage for the road trip. Controls around the staring wheel can be improved. Electronic shifter can be confused with the wiper controls, etc.

R 320 CDI
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R320 CDI 4dr Wagon AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
Review
This has got to be the best vehicle in it's crossover class. For the growing family that wants the wagon but not the van you can't beat the R- class. Definitely buy with all the options, then you never look back and regret what you didn't get. The ride is very smooth and yet in the corners it handles pretty tight. The panoramic rooftop is for sure a thing of wonder. This is a definate purchase for the folks wanting great gas efficiency along with great looks and quality. Performs like a true diesel but if you put your foot on the gas there are some ponies under the hood to be discovered.
Favorite Features
Panoramic roof, 4-matic, built in everything, 6 seats for real adults! Diesel power rules
Suggested Improvements
Sporty seats like the GL to go along with the killer exterior styling and class should be standard.

Great family vehicle; beast in the hills
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R320 CDI 4dr Wagon AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
Review
Great family vehicle with lots of room and fantastic comfort when cruising on the highway. Low rating on "Fun-to- Drive" because frankly this car/van/stationwagon/crossover isn't intended to be fun to drive the way a sedan might. It's a safe, roomy, family vehicle with style. That said, I will confess that the diesel engine makes this vehicle a beast in the mountains. We live in Colorado and it is sometimes mind- boggling to me how easily this car climbs steep grades. I will say that snow handling was very poor with the original tires, but once replaced became respectable. Fuel economy for this size vehicle is also very respectable. Overall 24-25 mpg. (Around town 19; Highway 27).
Favorite Features
Roominess, front and rear parking sensors, power rear hatch, diesel engine power and mpg.
Suggested Improvements
We paid $2000 for the nav system. While it works well, it is a horrible user experience. No touch screen. Frankly a $150 Garmin unit runs circles around this unit in terms of ease-of-use. Stunning to me given a 50K car + 2K option. We like the extended sunroof, but produces a lot of wind noise.

Great car, but a ton of money
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R350 4dr Wagon AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
The interior is superb, roomy, and comfortable. Except for a driveline noise that seems to be appearing, the interior is quiet and the ride is smooth. You can tell that the engine is a little small for this 5000lb beast, but the 7-speed makes do with what it's got to make it manageable. Fuel mileage is around 17.5 city and 22 highway. Not bad for a 7 passenger vehicle! The maintenance cost is high, so beware. An oil change (just oil, nothing else!) is $280. You can do the maintenance yourself, but I am expecting a challenge from MB on lease turn in time.
Favorite Features
Roomy, quiet, and smooth. Great interior quality and fit and finish. Good mpg for its size and intention. Good stereo.
Suggested Improvements
Why does a $50+k car need an additional item to make the bluetooth work? See other people's comments on that one! Can be expensive to maintain, but that's to be expected. I have had a couple of minor quality issues with the driveline (sensors, noise). No navigation and/or touch screen for $50k?

R320 CDI
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R320 CDI 4dr Wagon AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
Review
Most bang for your buck for a Mercedes by far. Had ours for a month and quite pleased other than the lumbar adjustment is a little lacking with it's the manual lever (akin to something on a 80's Honda). The bluetooth module is also $500 bucks from the dealer and really should be included as well as the available seat adjustments on other models. Another gripe is the navigation; really not as intuitive compared to other less prestigious manufacturers. The diesel has good acceleration and is unbelievably quiet but you'll pay a little extra for it up front and at the pump but hey its four wheel drive. I'm one of those that love the looks and interior styling and hope they don't change it.
Favorite Features
Four wheel drive, quality finishes, seats for seven, panaromic roof, wide entry for passengers
Suggested Improvements
Full seat adjustment as in other models, wish the amg version would return, second row seats should be able to return to selected recline positions after third row entry/exit.

After one year woes
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R320 CDI 4dr Wagon AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
Review
After 16 months I would have said almost a perfect 10 on this car. Bringing it in for 20K service has turned into a nightmare. Replacement of recall item has turned into now a replacement of transmission, turbo etc.. So in fairness, I loved my car before this.
Favorite Features
Back area ride- I have large dogs so they ride in comfort and I do not have to five up back seat or gas use in the bigger vehicles. Car generally rides smooth and economical of gas, especially the highway
Suggested Improvements
Better back up lights at night. Poor rear lighting. I wish I had purchased the sensor option.

Mom with Style
Vehicle
2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class R350 4dr Wagon AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
I wanted to get a nice safe reliable car that had a lot of room but wasnt your typical "mom car" I had only seen a few of these so I wasnt sure about it. I test drove it and I loved it. Its spacious, its nice, safe and reliable.
Favorite Features
The trunk. I love the automatic open and close feature. The panoramic sunroof is cool too.
Suggested Improvements
It would be cool if the panoramic sunroof would open all the way back. but I think the car is good just the way it is.
