THE BIG LET DOWN
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
This car is a big let down we are so done with this car, the transmission makes so much noise the shifter is in a bad position, the loud noise from the engine, we have had the car serviced so many times trying to find out about the engine problem, slipping of the transmission. Our 98 ml320 gave us no problems, we should have kept it with 135k miles, sadly disappointed
Favorite Features
The exterior design, the redesign of cargo space
Suggested Improvements
A whole new make over,MB needs to go back to the basics, take out computers and sencors and start from the begining

I've had this car for over 3 years and I love the car - the way it handles and performs. Also, it's built so well, I feel so safe driving it. I've owned Japanese SUV's in the past, but it's no comparison. I will never go back Lexus or Acura
Favorite Features
Great handling, corners well, awesome performance
Suggested Improvements
The engine is bit loud

I bought the first car of this new Model in 2005 and it has been hell ever since. At some point the dealership offered to give me a new car for additional 15k -- I bought the car cash hoping not to worry about buying a car for a long while. I have the ML320, 99 and it has worked very well for us, so I assumed this would be the same. To start, when the roads are wet or there is a little wind the car feels like it is being blown off the road and I have had this since day one, initially they told me that it might be the tires, but that wasn't it. The car has had so many problems that, at one point it spent 36 days at the dealership and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.
Favorite Features
A lot quieter than the ML320 and the climate control are better.
Suggested Improvements
Build a better car that will live up to the perceived reputation. Improve quality of leather and interior furnishing. That fake plastic wood must be changed to a better quality product -- my is all cracked. Move the gear from the dashboard to the middle of the center console as it was and remove c

I want to love Mercedes but they always go wrong. Mechanically is where this car falls. $310 for an normal service is way too much and cost for other small repairs are ridiculous like $20 for a new key battery. We only have about 40,000 miles on ours and every morning on a cold start there is a clicking noise coming from under the car. Also the steering vibrates a little on the highway and shakes when your ride over a pothole.
Favorite Features
Great styling outside but its okay on inside. Decent power from engine and smooth transmission.
Suggested Improvements
Interior is very basic. Expensive maintenance. Not a smooth ride for a luxury SUV

My First Benz Is Awesome!
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
I love my 1st Benz. AWD is great, leather is plush. I feel safe in it and it's the perfect car for the canadian winters. 1 problem though. My sunroof cracked during a heavy rain storm [luckily I was in a partly covered parking stall] water dripped into my plush leather. MB should use stronger sunroof glass to prevent $1500 for a new sunroof glass.other wise I love It!

Everthing!

Stronger sunroof glass

My wife drives this car day in and day out and just loves it. Previously had a 2001 ML320, this car is a huge improvement in ride and overall quality.
Favorite Features
Seats, turning radius, overall drive comfort.
Suggested Improvements
Navigation system ease of use, paying $50 MB needs to include phone system, shifter on column needs to be rethought.

This car's exceptional styling belies the fact that just about everything that could go wrong with it will! It regularly goes into the shop with the unexpected. Brakes lasted less than 1 year. Transmission dealybop less than 3 months. Many more repairs----all costly. Never buy this car without an extended warranty!
Favorite Features
Smoothness of ride.
Suggested Improvements
This car was put on the market about a year before all the known kinks were dealt with. Shame on Mercedes!

NICE...BUT C'MON....
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML500 4dr SUV AWD (5.0L 8cyl 7A)
Review
The car is truly beautiful from the outside and wonderful to drive. You have to get the V8. There is probably only 1 mpg difference but a huge difference in power. The only thing is that the inside is soooooo simple. The interior is ok but c'mon, Mercedes really hasn't changed anything on the inside in 100 years. Old buttons, mediocre nav. It makes you wonder about the price when far-inferior cars look amazing on the inside in comparison. Little leg room in the back. Mercedes is a driving machine, yes. But for $60,000- plus (with AMG), I want my car's interior looking a little better than a Honda... don't you think?
Favorite Features
The drive is beautiful. The engine and handling are a dream to drive.
Suggested Improvements
Improve the interior.

Upgrade from 2000 ML320
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
I recently bought this car used, with 29500 miles. I traded in a 2000 ML320 with 78000 miles, which I loved and never had a problem with. This newer model is beautiful, solid, and fun to drive. I don't like all the changes to where things are located, however - the window buttons, cup holders, gas filler, and gear shift have all been moved. I also prefer more traditional knobs to all the pushbuttons.
Favorite Features
Exterior style, comfortable ride, roomy interior.
Suggested Improvements
Need cup holders in back seat. The windshield wiper stalk has too many things on it and I can't see it because it's hidden behind the steering wheel. No cargo cover. Manual is ridiculously huge.
