Favorite Features

Suggested Improvements

noise around doors, steering wheel computer control buttons, coffee cup holders also seems to me that the price should enclude more of the extras they are charging for.

Review

What a vehicle. The complete package, from styling and performance to comfort and luxury. I have only had the black-on-black beauty for several days now, but I can state with certitude that there is no other full-size SUV that comes close to competing. I considered and test drove the 2007 Tahoe, the Armada and the Durango. I am glad that I did not settle for anything short of the GL 450.

Favorite Features

V8 power with 7-speed manumatic/paddle-shift automatic. Comfort. Navigation, standard Sirius radio, rear entertainment/DVD system, exclusivity.

Suggested Improvements

Option of ventilated seats.

Suggest to get a light color interior

Fun to drive, but I suggest not to get a light color interior. The light gray dashboard reflects to windshield badly. It feels like driving in smoke, disrupts your vision, and gives you tired eyes.

Favorite Features

Great features are uphill start control, information center in dash, positive brake system, and acceleration.

Suggested Improvements

Change dashboard color to not reflect in windshield. Eliminate shiny vent bezel that reflect on side mirrors. Easier handle to get into 3rd seats. 3rd seat should be accessible from both sides. Visible wiper switch. Front door size

I owned an ML before and was very excited about the GL when we were first told about it in Jan 2006. We preordered and took deliver May 7, 2006! I loved the car right away, and already have 10,000 miles. Having driven it now for 6 months, I can say that I would make two changes! DVD location, and split 2nd row seats. I have two children (in car seats) and running carpool with this creates big problems getting into the 3rd row! Also, DVD player needs to be accessible and controlled from the front seat! Children cannot unbuckle or get out of carseat to change DVD player that is located under the 2nd row seat! Very poor design for a mother with children! Otherwise, a fabulous car!

Favorite Features

Navigation and Sirius satellite radio. Automatic folding 3rd row seats, and great looking body style!

Suggested Improvements

DVD Location and controls accessible from front seat for driver, and split 2nd row seats (Captain Chairs) to get in and out of 3rd row easier, especailly while using carseats in the 2nd row.

Review

Driving the GL is a great experience, I am very happy with it. After having an Acura and a Lexus, I was happy to be back with MB. I was surprised to see a serious lack of technology. especially with the outdated navigation system (a portable one with a fraction of the price has more features and less complicated) and you should be able to change the radio station or CD without loosing the view of the map. Touch screen is standard in other cars. DVD in the back under the back seat make it imposible to change DVD or start it for the kids without stopping and diving under the seat (mainly it is for kids restrained in the back seat). Need child safety locks for the back doors.

Favorite Features

Beautifull exterior design. Fun to drive. Strong and smooth engine. Distronic. In summary, powerful and attractive.

Suggested Improvements

Need up-to-date technology, especially navigation (few years behind American and Japaneese cars). Front dash controls for DVD system (Kids cannot manage it, imposible to load while driving) Child safety locks for back doors are very important (first car I had without it)

Driving the new GL Class seven seater has been great and worth the money. I'm very happy with its special high technology. The navigation system is awesome.

Favorite Features

DVDs in the back seat for my kids. The fact that you can drive it in standard mode.

Suggested Improvements

Maybe in the future to also be able to see the DVD in the front screen.

Review

I'm amazed at how comfortable, smooth, responsive and well designed the GL450 is. I actually was able to purchase the Premier Edition and am very happy. The GL even corners well (I also own a CLS500 & Jeep GC SRT8). I get looks everywhere, even received a thumbs up from a new Cadillac Escalade owner! I couldn't be happier with this vehicle, it's one of a just a couple that have exceeded my expectations. In a word this vehicle is almost perfect.

Favorite Features

Nappa leather, engine, transmission, 3rd row seat, interior comfort, exterior styling!

Suggested Improvements

I want a regular radio tuning knob just like on my Jeep GC SRT8. I don't like the placement of the cruise control or the steering wheel radio controls should be done like Jeep, they are perfect!

Review

The comfort and convenience is exemplary. Best seats of any vehicle that I've owned. The vehicle was as steady as my SLK 55 AMG at higher speeds.

Favorite Features

Best navigation on the market and Sirius Sattelite Radio. Also love the rear gate w/ remote. Convenience package.

Suggested Improvements

Better looking wheels possibly with chrome. More storage in rear. Star on the hood to see where the front is.

Review

Fun to drive. Front end not very smooth. It feels like it's missing rubber bushings in the front. I hope it is an actual Mercedes and not just a name change from Dodge Durango to Mercedes GL450. It will be very disappointing if that's the case. Otherwise, it is a good vehicle. Also, it's difficult to lift the middle row to get the 3rd row.

Favorite Features

Gear shifting lever. Power third row seats.

I have owned many Mercedez over the years. I almost bought the new S class because of its beauty and drive until this car showed up and it is a dream. Perfect for my travel needs to the mountains. Only have 1,200 miles today and I love the car. Far better than the R or M class. And far better than Range Rover or the new Audi SUV!

Favorite Features

Drive and handling. High tech features. Air conditioning. Power

Suggested Improvements

So far none, but when I get 15 k on it I may have some
